Lee Shuts Fish Out

Cliff Lee was unstoppable on Wednesday on his way to a complete game shutout of the Miami Marlins.   Early on, Miami had the bases loaded with nobody out but failed to produce a run.   After that point, Lee kept the Marlins' bats mostly quiet and scattered only three total hits in the game.   Kevin Slowey who started for Miami was pitching well before being lifted in the sixth inning due a strained left lat. Phillies End Fish Streak

The Miami Marlins' modest two game win streak came to an end on Tuesday with a 7-3 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies.   The two teams combined for 25 hits with both scoring late.  The loss put Miami back to twenty games under .500 with a record of 13-33 on the season. Fish Win Second Straight

The Miami Marlins have a rare win streak going after a 5-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday.  The win was the second in a row for Miami to improve the team to 13-32 on the season.   A string of exceptional pitching continued following on the heels of two of the better starts since this season by Marlins' pitchers.
