Comeback Wasted

The Miami Marlins came back in the ninth inning to tie the game but ultimately lost 5-3 to the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday.  Jose Fernandez was out-dueled by Mat Latos but both starters came away with no decisions as the game went ten innings.    The loss was the 30th of the year for Miami as the team dropped to 11-30.  It was also the fifth straight loss for the Marlins. Leake Stifles Marlins

The Miami Marlins put together eleven hits on Wednesday but couldn't score one run as they were shut out 4-0 by Mike Leake and the Cincinnati Reds.  With a run coming in the first inning, Miami trailed all game to fall to 11-29 on the year.   The Marlins continue to stay on a pace that could come close to the worst record in MLB history. Nolasco Lacks Control in Loss

Ricky Nolasco had a rare off-night in terms of control walking two with the bases loaded in the Miami Marlins 6-2 loss to the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday.   Known for his exceptional control, it was a strange sight to see the Marlins' ace allow those two run scoring free passes during a five run second inning.   The loss was the third in a row for Miami and the team continued to struggle with the bats to fall to 11-28 on the season.
