Yup. Australia had a couple cuties.
I also look for the country with the ugliest chicks.
Weiber failed to qualify for individual all around.
Who would name their kid Destinee Hooker?
I bet growing up with that name was fun.
The gymnastics rules are stupid
After today, I have to amend the above: The Gymnastics rules are so f***ING stupid a money with a brain injury could come up with something better.
What exactly do you mean by that?
I'm guessing he's referring to the tie-breaking rules:
They changed the rules to remove the concept of perfection, so the '10' is gone. Instead there is a checklist of maneuvers that must be met each with a difficulty rating. The routine as a whole has a rating and then how close you get to it is measured - down to the thousandth of a point. As a result, there is less dance, less versatility. All turns are either a double or a triple, a 2 and a half would be a deduction, etc.
They limited the all around to two per nation, instead of being the 24 best in the world. Which is an invitational format.
Then, there was a tie. A tiebreaker is not even necessary when you have measurements to such a small increment - and the event has a precedent for ties (1996 bronze), and even if you were to have a tiebreaker, why would you drop the lowest score for an event that is a measurement of versatility?
At least we only have to suffer once every 4 years.
Poor Aly Raisman, my girl was robbed of a medal but then again she should've went safer on her balance beam routine. Gabby Douglas was ridiculously good congrats to her on her gold hopefully she'll be back to represent the US in Rio
