BREAKING: Jacoby Ellsbury agrees to free-agent deal with Yankees for 7 years, more than $142 million (via ESPN & Media Reports).

That's a bad deal. I don't see Ellsbury aging well with his speed.

I like that signing for NY.. I don't think Jacoby will regress that much

Whatever happened to the Yankees' salary threshold?

    Stoopid signing for the Yanks.

Red Sox are falling apart piece by piece.

Except that they're not. That's the luxury of having a good front office.

They'll be fine without Salty, but how do they plan to replace Napoli and Ellsbury?

They are looking into signing Choo

With young players, platoons and the usage of sabermetrics. Plus the offseason is far from over. Ellsbury was overpaid and Napoli is likely to regress, anyway.

Red Sox guys are pretty damn smart, I bet if Ortiz retired tomorrow, they'd still find a way to win next year.

They are talking to Granderson right now...He would be a terror at Fenway if they can convince him to sign with them instead of the Mets

Not so dumb if the extra cash was used to bring in Nathan, I'm sure Dombrowski had that in mind when he made the trade
