DOJ seizes Major Online Poker Domain Names

    Why didn't they just use Cayman Islands or Swiss banks? Then they could've done whatever they wanted to.

    They are based out of the country; one is in the Cayman Island and one is in Ireland, I believe.
    But they had to get money back and forth from there, and that involved US banks, allegedly in violation of the UIGEA (Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act).

    Yesterday, 2/3 major ones came to agreements with the DOJ to work to get US players their money back, even though they won't allow US players to continue to play during this process.
