Pretty sure I already read Tampa linked to LoMo.

Back to the Sox, this was a really great piece on a potential LoMo/Middlebrooks deal:

If Boston wants Lomo Will Middlebrooks and another player would work

Well, get some steam behind it and drive up the price!
... Actually, LoMo for Price, straight up. Git'r'dun! /sarcasm
  4. please god i hope TB isn't interested. That would mean we made a huge mistake in giving up on lomo.

He's exactly the kind of player they WOULD be interested in, too. I already think we're probably making a mistake dealing LoMo, but whatever, not my team. Just get Middlebrooks and I'm cool with it.

Morrison for Middlebrooks would be a good trade for both teams.

No. If the Marlins want Middlebrooks, LoMo and another player would work. LoMo's value is lower than Middlebrooks.

No problem. Give them a minor league player too, just not a top prospect.

I think a mid-level arm would suffice. I wouldn't give up anything better than DeSclafani or Urena.

Where did I say that he's an improvement over Morrison [in a vacuum]?

The perfect platoon partner at 1B for Garrett Jones would be Jeff Baker. Baker would be in the Marlins' price range and he destroys lefty pitching!

I think that's an overpay for Middlebrooks.

That would be a good move. Let's hope the FO is thinking along those lines.

Why not Mark Canha, like I mentioned earlier? Also plays first base and OPSed over .900 against lefties in AA. Would come much cheaper.

If the Marlins could somehow trade LoMo+ for Garin Cecchini, I would be ecstatic. That would make all of this worth it. That kid's something to get excited about.

Major league pitching is a lot better than AA pitching. Baker puts up numbers like that against major league pitching.
  17. I'm still holding out hope that Ken Rosenthal made some spelling error and instead of writing Garrett he meant to say Chipper.

I know this. But he's been consistent as a hitter down in the minors, and he's 24 now, so why not give him a shot?

I'd also be open to Kyle Jensen as I've mentioned before...

Nvm, for a right handed power hitter, he doesn't hit lefties. Weird...

If he can't hit lefties, he would not be a good platoon partner for Jones.
