Erick
It seems like most of the spots are filled. It hasn't been announced yet, but it's looking like Nolasco, Eovaldi, Leblanc, Alvarez, and Slowey as the starting five to open the season in the rotation. Wilson Valdez will probably be the backup infielder. They wouldn't have signed him recently if they didn't feel there was a need, and he probably has the most experience at SS. Who's in the bullpen? There hasn't been much discussion about it. Obviously, Cishek is going to close. Jon Rauch is the setup guy, and Mike Dunn is probably the primary lefty in the pen. Ryan Webb has a guaranteed contract so he's likely on the team, too. That leaves three spots available in the pen. Qualls? (experienced and has pitched pretty well in ST) Ramos? (I like him) Jennings? (do they carry two lefties?) Maine? (long reliever?) Koehler (is he still in big league camp?) Am I missing someone? mrchainsaw
Koehler was optioned to NOLA last week. It'd be a shame if Ramos didn't make the team. He was solid when he came up the end of last year and this spring. I think Jennings makes it as the second lefty, especially going up against the Utley/Howard/Harper's of the world in our division. After that, I've got nothing.
Erick
I think we should consider signing some people this week. Rod Barajas was just released today, and would be an upgrade to the backup C situation for the time being. Also, considering our big ballpark, I kinda like Chris Young, the pitcher, once the Nationals let him go.
SilverBullet
Koehler and Maine have been sent down. You forgot Ceda on ur list. I'm not saying he's in but I wouldn't say he's definitely out either. I say its Qualls Ramos and Jennings unless we sign someone from somewhere else. Barajas, I can go with that until Mathis returns. Fine by me. Admin
Scott Maine was sent down, not John Maine. I assume Erick meant John since he said long relief. Wouldn't surprise me if one of Maine, Slowey and LeBlanc is the long man with the other 2 in the rotation while Turner gets more time in AAA. Qualls, Ramos, and Jennings would make sense, but that would leave us with no long reliever. I think we'll probably just go with one lefty in the pen. I don't really follow Spring Training stats, but every time I check a box score on gameday, it seems like Jennings doesn't pitch well. I'm guessing they'll go with Qualls, Ramos, and a long reliever. If Maine/Koehler have already been sent down, I'm not sure who that would be. Again, it wouldn't surprise me if they sign a SP this week (like Young), and perhaps move Slowey to the pen. Or they could just give Turner the 5th spot, although I don't think they should do that at this point.

Maine still has a good shot even if he doesn't make the rotation.
Hotcorner
As long as Ramos makes it. Not sure how far off Ceda is? I expected to see him thos spring but guess he's not 100% yet. Koehler should've been shoe-in for long man but just kept getting hammered.
BroncoBob27
Is Phillips still here? I still like him, only because he looks like a billboard for a gas station out on the mound. May as well have some fun with this season.
mrchainsaw
Welp, no Jennings or Phillips to start the season.
Wild Card
Looks like we'll be going with one lefty, just Dunn at this point.
floridafly
MLBTR just said Chad Qualls has made the pen. He'll be a nice veteran presence.

Wild Card
Qualls earned a role He's had one good year since 2009... And it was at Petco Park. Maybe Marlins Park has another good effect on him, or maybe he sucks again. More likely the latter, but at least we have some depth.
Erick
I think Qualls' success or lack thereof is dependent on the infield defense. He gets groundballs at a nearly 60% clip. It's also dependent on how the manager uses him. He's effective against right-handed hitters, but lefties destroy him.

BroncoBob27
Welp, no Jennings or Phillips to start the season. Saw that this morning. No #66 to chuckle about. Oh well. It's a long season.
