Jay Ram
I'm ok with giving Gordon the first shot. If Gordon doesn't cut it and keep his OBP at least over .320 you can move him down and move Prado/Yelich up. But to clear up some thoughts on where Gordon's speed would or would not be effective in the lineup, the book does say steals are actually more valuable later in the lineup, because there is less power than the middle of the order and a steal into scoring position has more value for a late lineup single. On Base comes first. Exactly. But I'd like to point out that a .320 OBP is not very good, especially for the top of the lineup. Yea, I'm really hoping it can be around .340, but that's wishful thinking. We know he's going to start the season there so for now, so let's just hope his minor league track record, more seasoning, and coaching can bump it some. Michael
You guys ready to laugh? Someone on mlb.com's comment section made this lineup in a Joe Frisaro article about Prado giving the Marlins a tough lineup choice: LF Yelich RF Stanton 1B Morse CF Ozuna 2B Gordon 3B Prado C Salty SS Hech Pitchers Now I remember why I stay away from the comments section of that site. :lol

poptart
yeah but, other than Stanton, he'd be the only Marlin on the team who'd ever have worn a Florida jersey before (how nutty is that?). reel him in

Ok so see what you can get for him and sign Boni. Add to the farm, add speed to the lineup and sign Boni. I'm not saying he's much better, but if you can get a decent return it's a good move. If the marlins think he's good, there got to be another team that thinks something of him for some reason.
