Admin
According to Dennis Lin and Kirk Kenney of the San Diego Union-Tribune, Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp has officially been traded to the Padres. Kemp and catcher Tim Federowicz are headed to San Diego in exchange for catcher Yasmani Grandal, pitcher Joe Wieland, and at least one prospect. The Dodgers are also sending around $31 million to the Padres to cover part of Kemp's remaining $107 million in guaranteed salaries. It's been an incredibly active 24 hours for the new-look Los Angeles front office, and there should be more activity to come. pollythewog
I think I'm becoming a dodgers fan. Friedman is awesome. He basically traded Dee Gordon for Kendrick, Barnes, Kike and Hatcher.

Wild Card
Wrong place for Kemp to find a resurgence. Not that San Diego gave up a ton, but the money they're going to pay him could have been better spent elsewhere.
Eddie Altamonte
I believe the Marlins could have gotten Grandal now Freidman was smart enough to pick him up as well

SongInTheAir
Yikes. This will be ugly if the Padres try to revoke the trade. No way Kemp will be back with the Dodgers, but no way any team will take him (and pay him) either.
Admin
And Rollins deal is in limbo too because one of the players coming to LA was being spun off to Philly. That may fall apart too. I think SD has to nix it, too much money to take on that. Arthritis doesn't just go away

Das Texan
dodgers telling the padres to go fuck themselves and the padres still doing the deal is comical.
SongInTheAir
"Give us more money if you still want us to take Kemp." "No." "Come on dude, be cool. Give us some more money and we'll still take Kemp." "No." "Okay, fine. We'll still take Kemp."
