Bingo. He defected in 2009 and on April 13, 2010, Hechavarria signed a 4-year, $10 million contract with the Toronto Blue Jays

But I thought after that deal was finished he became a FA, not arb eligible. I guess I was wrong? How does that work?

I'm pretty sure he's subject to the same service time rules as every other player which means he would be minimum salary next year and then arb eligible in 2016, but perhaps I am mistaken.

so Bell, Furcal, Dobbs and Marmol are like $10m of the $45m salary this year. lol.

Yeah, it is $6.5 - everywhere else says $6.5 from right after the signing.
