SoddenEye
Enter in what you think the Marlins should follow this year in order to succeed in your eyes. I'll start off by saying they need to follow small ball. Watching the game today made me realize what was really missing last year. This team needs to make teams pay for letting one of our own on. In all honesty I think Salty and Hech need that to be their primary focus from now on, cause above them are some solid solid guys who can hit for average and some can hit for power. Admin
Will the Marlins still be following the brilliant strategy of trying to hit the ball to where the fielders aren't standing?

"Hit it where they ain't" Copyright Frank Menechino Sounds pretty logical to me! Interviewer: Casey, you had a great first half in 2014, but not so much in the second half, what happened? McGehee: Well ... to start the year, I really did my best work at hitting the ball where they ain't, and in the second half, y'know, I figured the scouting report was out by then so I tried to hit it right at em, something they wouldn't expect. SongInTheAir
They need to give players much shorter leashes. Salty has been bad for a whole season, Hech for a whole career. Let them start the year off and see what they can put together, but don't give them another whole year before doing something about it. Also, the team needs to stop with the Kevin Gregg/Brad Penny type signings. If we're willing to put guys in that are going to perform so poorly, it might as well be young guys who can gather some experience while losing games. Erick
Health aside, I think that Dee Gordon is this team's X-Factor. I don't know if that's what the OP is asking though.

Wild Card
Health aside, I think that Dee Gordon is this team's X-Factor. I don't know if that's what the OP is asking though. I'd go with Martin Prado as the X factor. If he can just be himself, he brings a strong bat and glove to third with the ability to play so many positions should we need that versatility. He can literally bat anywhere in the lineup. If Dee isn't what the Marlins (and I) hoped, Yelich can always slide into the leadoff spot with Prado to follow and you still have an extremely productive top of the lineup. But if Prado isn't himself it's not likely something we overcome IMO. Despite how much I love Dee, Prado was our biggest acquisition offensively and defensively IMO. SilverBullet
@Wild Card your point on Prado is valid but I wouldn't count him as an x factor more so because he's a consistent type of player who we pretty much know what we're getting from him and there's not likely to be any change from that. Dee on the other hand has more of a chance to be either really good or really bad.
