pollythewog
Okay this might be fun or really boring. Let's put together a team of former fish who are active players 1b: Miggy 2b:Omar Infante ss:Reyes 3b: Hanley C: LF: Coghlan CF: Maybin RF: Alejandro De Aza SP: Andrew Heaney SP: Anthony Desclafani SP: AJ Burnett SP: SP: RP: Ryan Webb RP: Yusmeiro Petit Closer: Andrew Miller Okay I'm out of ideas! Erick
This team would be pretty bad too.
Uncle Leo
Gotta put AJ Burnett up there. Infante at 2B. But I mean no one is really a huge loss other than Miggy. Having Miggy together with Stanton would've been a thing of beauty. And I can't remember the last time we had an above average 1B... Delgado? For one season at that... We've had such a hard time finding something that should be relatively easy.
pollythewog
Maybin and Coghlan are having really nice seasons guys!
Admin
Wow, the Marlins have really sucked over the last several years. This thread is a downer.
bmg42
Tough that you can't find a place for Adrian Gonzalez (Miggy can't really move to 3B anymore). Jay Grilli was pitching pretty well before he got hurt.
poptart
I was just clicking around baseball-reference in an attempt to fill out this lineup. it's hard. but I did find out that the three best players on the 2009 Marlins team (WAR wise) were: 1) Josh Johnson, 2) Hanley Ramirez, and....... drum roll.... ...... 3) .......... Kiko Calero who the fuck is Kiko Calero
poptart
oh, and AJ Burnett / Mark Buehrle / Anibal Sanchez / Jason Vargas / Andrew Heaney would be a hell of a rotation.
fanofthefish
I think Salty might be the only former catcher still in the Majors, I saw Brantly on Friday in Jax with the AA White Sox team
