It looks like there is already a blockbuster trade in the works.

Quote

An NBA executive told The Boston Globe Wednesday that the Minnesota Timberwolves are working on a deal that would send Al Jefferson and the No. 6 pick in next week's NBA Draft to the Phoenix Suns for Amare Stoudemire.

•According to John Gambadoro of KTAR.com, there have been no discussions between the teams about this trade and the Suns will hold onto Stoudamire until they find a deal they like.

i just don't understand why the wolves would do that trade. al jefferson is putting up better numbers than amare, is younger, and is signed long term. i thought by mchale leaving, the wolves wouldn't make any more stupid moves.

Trade would make no sense considering Jefferson still has a few years left on his deal while Amar'e's deal ends after this year.

Coming Soon, my NBA Mock Draft.

Players I want the Heat to Draft:

1. Jack McClinton (UM product who I am dying for the Heat to draft in the 2nd round).
2. Jodie Meeks (guy who can come off the bench and score like crazy)
3. Patrick Mills (great assist man, can get the the hole with ease)
4. Dante Cunningham (averaged 16 ppg at Nova with 7.5 rpg, could be good inside presence).
5. Jeff Pendergraph (can play both PF and center, averaged 8.2 rebounds per game at Arizona State, needs to gain more muscle at the next level).

Players the Heat might target if they trade back into the first round

1. Dejuan Blair (probably will be gone by the lottery, but if he falls he would be a steal. 12.3 rpg at Pitt and was a force on defense.)
2. B.J Mullens (I don't want him, his stats at Ohio State are below mediocre, but his 7 foot, 275 pound frame makes him a top 20 pick.)
3. Dajuan Summers (Guy was a good all around player, 13.6 ppg, 4 rpg, 0.7 blocks per game, 1.1 steals per game, hell even shot 39% from 3 point line as a forward).

One guy that intrigues me based on his size and college stats is John Bryant from Santa Clara. We could get him mid-late second round. Try him out as our backup center and see how he does. He couldn't be any worse than Joel Anthony.

6'11 DraftExpress has him at 275 LBS(ESPN at 303)

Senior Year: 18.1 PPG 14.2 RPG 1.1 APG 2.5 BPG 59.6 FG% 78.7 FT%

That would be a stupid trade for the timberwolves. I mean really stupid.

6 more days til the nba draft. what happened to miami's 1st round pick in the draft, well either way i think they'll take mcclinton with their 2nd rounder. i think the kings take flynn with the 4th unless rubio drops that low.

I hope ben comes back to the bulls but I also want the bulls to have as little money tied up after next season as possible so they can make a run at LeBron or Bosh because they have a lot of money coming off the books after next season.

Then again, would love to trade for Amare than sign LeBron. One can dream

The Heat lost it in the great Ricky Davis trade.

I hope McClinton is available at #43, but I think he'll be gone by then.

oh yeah, didn't you guys also get mark blount. that guy is possibly worse than kenny thomas, possibly. i think it's possible for him to fall that far because he's definitely not going to be in the first round. also don't the heat already have a player like mcclinton in daequan cook.

ben gordon was a beast during the playoffs until his injury. i think that the bulls might go after kaman since the clippers will have griffin, randolph, and camby to occupy the PF/C positions next season. the one thing the bulls have been missing for a while is a player that could post up.

Yeah, everything about that trade turned out pretty bad. We already have Cook, but you can always use another shooter, and I wouldn't be surprised if the Heat tried to play with three guards more often if they pick McClinton, which I would like.

For some reason though I think he'll go earlier, possibly even in the late first round. I was reading about his workout with the Heat and I heard he made like 37 of his 50 threes. He's probably one of the best pure shooters in this draft, if not the best. I think the only thing that's holding him back is his size.

the celtics offered rondo and allen to the pistons for stuckey, prince, and hamilton. apparently the pistons immediately rejected the proposal and i don't blame them. rondo is overrated, i could look good playing alongside 3 allstars and ray allen is on the decline. not to mention the pistons would be trading away their core of players for 2 players that will hit free agencies next season. i think the pistons will be better off adding to their core by signing boozer.

richard jefferson was just traded to the spurs for bowen, thomas, and oberto. seems that the bucks want to save money since all the players they're receiving only have one year left on their contracts.

Good deal Both ways IMO but i believe a draft pick was also involved.
We'll have to wait til full details are out.

i've been watching ESPN and reading articles on the web about the trade and nothing about a draft pick. i don't think it really matters anyway, the spurs draft picks are usually low because of their success. but for some reason they always pick good players with those picks like parker, manu, hill, and barbosa (traded).

Jefferson trade was obviously nothing more than a salary dump.

I don't know why the Celtics would even bother with that offer though. Rondo is OK and Allen isn't nearly what he used to be and they're asking for the Piston's three best players?

all the analyst on ESPN are saying that rondo is a top 5 point guard in the league, bulls***. he's not even that good.

Yeah the way he played in the playoffs is pretty much the way everyone thinks he plays year round.

He may be top 10 but not top 5 as Chris Paul, Steve Nash, Deron Williams, Tony Parker, Barron Davis, Derrick Rose Chauncey Billiups and Jason Kidd are all better than Rondo.

Wow. I wouldn't even put him in the top 10.

I'd take Paul, Williams, Nash, Billups, Davis, Parker, Arenas, Rose, Crawford, Harris, Miller, Kidd, and Calderon over Rondo anyday. That puts him at 14th.

Rondo is probably one of the worst shooting PGs if not the worst. I'd want my PG to have at least some offensive ability.

analysts like chris ford are dumbasses anyway. he hates every one of our draft picks and look how kevin martin and garcia turned out. a top 10 shooting guard and an above average contributor off the bench. although crawford over rondo might be pushing it a bit and kidd's done.

I was talking about last season though. I'd still take the 08-09 Kidd over the 08-09 Rondo, and yeah Crawford might be pushing it a bit, but in my opinion its still debatable. I guess I'm just not a fan of Rondo like a lot of other people.
