Volstad needs to keep the ball down if he want's to constantly win ball games.

Good Nights for Cody and Johnny Bake, rest of the lineup not so much.

Hanley ends the RBI streak and we are out of 1st place. Have to win the next 2.

Was Volstad throwing BP tonight?

Just a bad game where the offense decided to score a little too late. Hopefully we can win the next two.

Two bad pitches up hurt bad. When the ball was down he had 6 groundouts and could been 7 if Uggla turns the easy double play.

Volstad is not that good, what more can you say. He dug us a hole that makes it tough to come back from. The Piraets, hahahaha must be some kind of joke right?

I hope Wiley is working with Volstad on eliminating the homeruns. In other words, I hope this is just a bit of a sophomore slump for Volstad and not an indication that last year was a fluke.

But dangit, how I hate playing the Pirates.

So what do you guys think on letting Volstad throw some innings in the minors and letting VandenHurk throw some up in the bigs?

Umm, no. A few bad starts doesn't mean he should be sent down.

This game sucked. We need to take the next 2 for a solid 5-1 homestand. I'm confident about Sunday's game with Nolasco on the hill but tonight's match between Miller and Duke could go either way. Duke has a low 3 ERA on the year, but Miller has looked good since returning from the DL.

Working on first pitch strikes, thus pitching ahead in the count would be a world changing.

This.

If anyone from the rotation should be sent down in the future it should be Sean West, only if he continues to struggle.

This is ironic, considering you're the guy who continually defends Matt Lindstrom...
