Skipworth going that high in 2008 feels almost identical to the Pirates drafting Tony Sanchez 4th overall (he was projected as a sandwich pick) last year. Everyone knew in that case that it was all about getting someone who would sign quickly and at or below slot. Indeed he was the first player of note to sign a contract last year, but talent wise he was not worth the 4th overall pick.
Kyle Skipworth bust or not

I mean, he certainly has struggled. But the Marlins will not be "done with him" no matter how he performs this year. He is club-controlled for a long time to come, and he has no trade value. So, just sit back, relax, and hope that sometime in the next 10 years he'll become a player who can add something to the ML squad.

Completely similar if you mean entirely different. Skipworth went right around where he was projected to go and he was who most people thought the Marlins would take.
