  1. Willingham should play LF. Aguila will be the worst starting LF in baseball if he plays there, and Olivo would not be the worst hitting catcher if he started. Where is the common sense here?
  2. So you want to play Willingham and Uggla at two positions where you need good defense? Kind of risky. If you're going to do that....might as well move Cabrera back to left and let Helms play third....at least he can hit major-league pitching. For the record.....I wouldn't do that.
  3. 2 for 10 with two singles.......and he's the starter already......wow.
  4. I think the two reasons he got cut were......1) Excuse wasn't legit. 2) This move saves the Marlins 450,000 more bucks by letting Andino or Amezaga making the team.....don't underestimate the cheap factor here. I don't think it has anything to do with Uggla.
  5. It's not easier to find if you're not willing to spend over 350,000 for a player. So you have a good hitting catcher and the worst hitting LF in baseball....whoever they choose......Aguila, Abercrombie or Reed. Outfield corners are offensive power positions, and I'm confident that Olivo is significantly better than Willingham will be behind the plate. The Astros made it to the World Series with Brad Ausmus behind the plate. The Marlins need Willingham to bat 550-600 times and he won't do that as a catcher.

Can't compare France to anybody.......biggest wimps on the planet. I don't think Japan would mess with Korea now.....Korea could make them disappear in a cloud.
  7. The problem with playing Willingham at catcher is two-fold. First the Marlins need to get him as many AB as possible and as a catcher he'll be lucky to play 130 games.....in LF he can play 160. Secondly, the Marlins need a defensive catcher and Olivo is vastly superior to Willingham. Also, if Willingham catches you have to play two of Abercrombie, Reed and Aguila.
  8. Let me be the first to tell you.....the Rays aren't trading Gomes. They are gonna trade Huff this year and Gomes will be needed to replace the power lost.

I DVR'd the Korea-Japan game.....wow....great game. Ichiro will have to eat some crow....not only did Korea beat them by they hit him with a fastball in the game. The US better bring their A game, because these teams are playing all out.
  10. I can definately see Steinbrenner side of things. He's got a lot of good players in this tournament that means nothing. I just hope Cabrera and the D-Train stay healthy.
  11. Amezaga? Andino? Uggla? Please come back Pokey.
  12. The Rays are gonna want someone to move into their starting rotation on Opening Day for Gathright.....or they'll just keep him.
  13. Good points Das.
  14. It has to do with bat speed. Bat speed is where you get your power.....not a heavier bat. So I bet your coach is just trying to help you out. I've coached baseball a long time myself and always tried to get my players to use lighter bats too.
  15. If Willis and Cabrera are on the Marlins all year............65-97.........if they are traded in July or before.....50-112.
