  1. Don't think the Brewers would wanna give up Prince for Anibal given his struggles this year. And as for prospects doubt that would work cause they would want (a) player(s) that is/are ready to contribute now. I know thats a terrible trade but thats what im saying the only way wed get prince in if we gave up nothing. Prince is a FA this year right or up for arbitration? Prince is arbitration eligible next year.
  2. and Fielder brings a lot of Drama to the clubhouse, i would rather have Cantu at first and Dallas at 3rd or Cantu at 3rd and Sanchez at 1st than getting rid of JJ When has Fielder ever been a clubhouse problem? The only time there was drama was when he shoved Parra, and that led to a winning streak. And Fielder is not a "good for only a home run" player.
  3. So what's the word is this still gonna be a noon start or no?

  5. An Oswalt-Sheets 1-2 punch would be sick. I dont see the Rangers going after him cos when was the last time they had a good pitcher. No doubt the Yankees will be linked to him. They thought Sabathia-Sheets would be sick though and Sheets didn't really deliver. I think when he's not the clear ace it bothers him, and not in a good motivational way, and he falters. He's just a wuss. Mentally and physically. The moment he gets a comfy contract he'll go back to starting 20 games at the max.
  6. Lance Berkman took Sheets out to dinner when we were in Houston to try and woo him over there. My guess is either them, the Rangers or Dodgers if they don't get CC. Personally, I do not want Sheets back. Notice how he didn't go near full a season after 2004 up until this year? That's cause it's a contract year, and he finally toughed it out with his little girly injuries so he could get a big pay day this off-season. Guy is a joke, really. His own teammates have called him out for his sitting out with minor injuries. Whatever team gives him a big contract is shooting themselves in the foot. CC on the other hand will be worth every penny he gets. He's the best in the MLB in my opinion.
  7. No doubt Nolasco has more games under his belt and has more value but I think it's just a matter of time before Gallardo is right there with him. Freak injury this year where Yovani had to jump over first base to avoid Reed Johnson's dumb ass sliding into first base and landed wrong, before that happened he was picking up right where he left off last year. 17 starts last year for YoGa, aside from two awful starts in August where he gave up a combined 18 runs, he had a 2.70-2.80 or so era most of the year. Can't wait to see him anchoring the staff next year, I just wish CC would still be here but of course he'll be playing for the Angels or Dodgers.
  8. Nolasco's great but I'd put him on the same level as Yovani Gallardo, who I wouldn't trade Braun for if he was on another team. I definitely wouldn't put either of those guys on the level with Webb and Peavy and so on.
  9. When I say a guy that's already an ace I mean like Cy Young winner type ace, Brandon Webb/Jake Peavy etc., which would obviously NEVER happen, but that's my point. There's no pitcher we could realistically get that I would deal Braun for. He means too much to the franchise and the fans. He's our 2008 Robin Yount. Plus he's starting to become a great all-around player with his defense improving.
  10. Obviously can't answer that from an Fish fan's perspective but from mine I would never want to give up Braun for Nolasco or Volstad...No disrespect to their talent levels, there's no pitcher I'd give up Braun for short of someone who is already an ace in the MLB. Not just cause he's an amazing hitter but because he's a great guy and someone the franchise badly needs. Any team in the league would be lucky to have him.
  11. I guess so. I honestly think though that Fielder is the best hitter on our team, and a better overall one than most power-hitting first basemen that have played. And he's clutch. He carried our offense for a few games on this current streak. But you're right in saying power is not something that the Marlins need more of right now.
  12. I'm definitely not underestimating your pitchers. Like I said I understand why you wouldn't do the trade, was just curious how you guys would feel about it. I'm honestly surprised at the amount of Giant fans that want Cain traded for Fielder. He's supposed to be great.
  13. Who you asking? I'll just say from our perspective, eliminating them today would be HUGE as Sabathia could rest Sunday and go game one against the Phillies.
  14. As much as I like Prince, I wouldn't trade him for Noly or Volstad in a million years. That's the response I expected. Although I think people all are underestimating how good Prince is because he put up disappointing numbers this year. He's been amazing lately and I think next year he will be a .285 hitter once again. Will he hit 50 homers again? Maybe, maybe not. Still I understand not wanting to trade a young pitcher for a guy whose weight might force him to the AL eventually.
  15. Hey guys, Brewer fan here. Just curious about this because I remember seeing a Marlins fan complaining about how much Mike Jacobs sucks not that long ago. I checked it out and yeah, his OBP is terrible. Seems like an all power type hitter. Fielder is kind of stereotyped as being that same kind, but in reality he's a great singles and doubles hitter in addition to his power. A rumor about Fielder has been him and possibly others getting traded for Matt Cain this offseason. It won't happen, and I don't think I want it to. I was just wondering, how would you guys feel about the Marlins acquiring Fielder from us, presumably in a deal involving Nolasco or Volstad (I don't know a lot about your pitchers I'm just assuming those two are your best younger ones). He used to live in Florida for a long time too so that would get him some points with the fans.
