I love how the facts get skewed to prove points. They took $15 Million less than they could have gotten, not less than $10 million like he implies. Why does he have to be obnoxious like that? Just make your points strong enough they can stand on their own - lame journalism.

I've read claims of anywhere from 10-6 mil over the life of the contract, lower than reported 15 Mil because of the state tax in Florida.

Stop this. They still could have demanded max contracts from the Heat, and they would have gotten them. The max contract would have netted them $15 million more than the contracts they ended up signing.

The income tax is irrelevant here; if anything, since the tax rates are lower, they would have pocketed even more of the other $15 million they left on the table, so they actually surrendered more money in MIA than if they would have taken a less-than-maximum contract elsewhere.

So can someone explain to me why two players with previous MLB starting experience (Sean West and RVH) were left to rot while we threw some kid in the fire when we're still in contention? Also, why was Nate Robertson allowed to stick with the team longer than Volstad? Volstad's numbers were better than Nate's.

West missed some time with injuries. And RVH has a 4.68 ERA in AAA, and that includes a tremendous outing last night. He hasn't been very consistent.

And when Sanabia was severely outperforming his WHIP the last couple of weeks, I didn't hear anyone complaining. Now all of a sudden the soothsayers are out? Give me a break.

Just another affirmation that this team should sell.....

Next wave of prospects include some relievers in the upper minors like Jose Ceda, Ryan Tucker, and Jhan Marinez, and some starting pitchers in A-ball like Brad Hand.
