Marlins Drop Tight Game to Giants Despite Strong Start from Rogers

Trevor Rogers pitched well but it wasn't enough as the Miami Marlins fell 3-1 to the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday.

Rogers gave Miami 5.2 innings of work and struck out six along the way. Rogers allowed a run on four hits and walked none to reduce his E.R.A to 3.92 in 2024. The lefty got a no-decision, with the loss being charged to Declan Cronin. The reliever returned to the roster earlier in the day and gave up one run in 1.1 innings on the mound.

Miami's offense was mostly quiet, outside of another good day for Bryan De La Cruz. The outfielder had a two-hit day, which included his third home run of the season. De La Cruz now has ten RBI and leads the Marlins in multi-hit games.

Miami will begin a series on the road when it takes on the Chicago Cubs on Thursday at 7:40 p.m.
