  1. Let's not overlook the fact that Jeter let go of Lebron too. I know he's not a baseball player but might as well give him a chance and at worst he brings great publicity to the Marlins.

  2. Getting rid of Andrew Miller twice now...is it Jeter's fault, or does this one still fall on Loria?

  3. Justin Twine?! Are you fucking kidding me?! Derek Jeter has no idea how to run a major league team!

  4. And Edgar Martinez! Another Hall of Famer released with a tweet -- shameful.

  5. If you're already thinking it's Cooper I don't know why you would think about me being the DH too.

  6. It's very unlikely that Cervelli is behind the plate while Alfaro is batting. Normally it's the other team's catcher behind the plate when someone bats.

  7. Hi all. I can't believe I'm about to say this, especially in the center of a rebuild, but with only 60 games left, we're tied for first place. This is the least amount of games remaining where we've had at least a share of the division lead. Exciting times, everyone!

  8. Jeter was too cheap to do it first, he probably saved some money by doing it last.

  9. Yes. And we were one of the last teams to do it, which would go against normal perception/narratives.

  10. I'm pretty sure that a group like this and probably even more players get released through the course of a normal season and the only reason this seems newsworthy is because they were released in one big chunk in the midst of a pandemic while no games were going on. Bottom line, there's more player turnover in every organization every year than people realize and no one bats an eye at these cuts any other year.

  11. To be fair I watch the minor leaguers on a regular basis, well at least the three teams playing in Florida, the ones on the list I had heard of hadn't impressed me much, good news there will be a new crop of farm players soon enough

  12. Anyone in our top 20 who were within 18 months of a debut. So - Sixto, Jazz, Bleday, Cabrera, Rogers, Jesus Sanchez, Lewin ... Max Meyer probably, Vesia ... dude, our bullpen could be insane if we bring up the starters to just relieve as a bit of a short term introduction to the League.

  13. Aguilar. Pretty sure Cooper is the better defender.
