  2. Please don't start this today. You always show up right when we start losing.

  4. I gotta say, Mattingly pulling Caleb in the 4th and only down by one in the 2nd game of the season does feel like a sign or more urgency for wins so I guess that's good.

  5. These are the most well-behaved Phillies fans I’ve ever seen.

  6. Don't overthink the lineup changes. This is a versatile team as far as positions. Donnie probably just wants to give Berti a start and Villar is obviously the best guy to move around. I wouldn't say Diaz is benched after just one game, I wouldn't say Villar is out of CF after just one miscue. I expect lineup changes often with this team.

  7. For sure - if he can figure out his pitch recognition just a little better, we can get something going there.

  8. I have high hopes for Isan.

  9. Haven't had an opening day win in a while so that was nice. Season should have a very different feel with each game meaning much more.

  12. The 2020 season will be different and unique to say it lightly. Every team will be dealing with new rules, new protocols and a sprint to the playoffs. While the Marlins are still considered a longshot for a playoff berth, the shortened season has ever so slightly increased their postseason chances. Hall of Fame manager Tommy Lasorda once said, "No matter how good you are, you're going to lose one-third of your games. No matter how bad you are you're going to win one-third of your games. It's the other third that makes the difference.” That quote describes the 2020 season to a tee. Ma

  13. Neidert did quite well, I agree. No strikeouts but it seems that's not a big part of his game. Outs are outs, and as long as he gets those, we're good.

  14. Major positive from this game is Neidert's performance. Very impressive.

  15. Can't win every game, but a series win on the road in Philly to open the year would be huge. Just win tomorrow.

  16. Good on Caleb holding himself accountable. Would have been nice to start 2-0 but it is what it is so whatever but it does make tomorrow's game seem more important.

  17. It’s almost like every left-handed pitcher we get is contractually obligated to suck. This game needs some Adam Conley in it.

  19. At least make Wheeler pitch here so we can get to the bullpen, and see what happens.

  20. Also the guy we got for Ozuna is the one who beat you guys on Opening Day.

  35. Sean Rodriguez occasionally catches bullpen sessions. I'm sure there are plenty of players who can catch if needed yet have never had to do it in a game so I wouldn't look at how many games played as a catcher.

  36. Mike Mordecai did a pretty good job when we needed him.

  38. An OPENING DAY victory! First time over .500 since August of 2017. First Opening Day win since 2014. First ROAD Opening Day win since 2007. Aguilar dong. Alcantara looked ace-like. Good at bats through-out the game. I like it. Let's win tomorrow!

  41. Depending on how they go about realignment, it is very possible. Geographic realignment is going to get a massive boost from this shortened season, I think.
