  3. The point of having a 60 man roster wasn’t to have everybody in Jupiter promoted all at once. No team would be able to survive this. As a matter of fact, if it would’ve happened to another team, the season probably would’ve been cancelled already. Let this happen to the Yankees or Dodgers and watch how the reaction around the league changes.

  4. I think another point not being looked at is teams using commerical flights instead of chartered flights because its 'safer'? Huh? Makes no sense. That reeks of teams being cheap. Charter flights, control all aspects of the flight and you keep control. MLB has been a fucking disaster with the restart from day 1. They need to learn to be leaders and not idiots. And take lessons from the NBA and NHL in how to restart a season correctly. NFL idiots will be next. Guaranteed.

  5. This situation reminds me of the Gallen trade, very aggressive. Getting the whole starting lineup sick all at once rather than spreading it out gives us an advantage in the playoffs if we make it. Risky move but could pay dividends.

  7. They should let teams make players available for loan. I'm sure some teams would love to see their prospects get real action without using any service time.

  13. So no players from the Braves or Phils tested positive? and Marlins haven't been in Miami since July 18? Doesn't make sense.

  17. All it's going to take to cancel the season is for one or two of the premier teams to go through the same thing and poof, like magic, season will be shut down. The testing that is available is also pretty sub-standard as far as most normal tests go to check for diseases. I get it that that's what's available so we make due. But speaking as someone who had the deep nasal brain poke swab done that came back negative, only to find out I was positive, and in listening to my own PCP tell me that in her experience the results of all tests (even the antibody one) have been wildly inaccurate, I

  18. Pausing just the Marlins is a temporary fix. There's no way this doesn't happen to several other teams so eventually everything will stop. Awful situation and selfishly angry that it's us yet again.

  20. MLB should be on the hook to pay for replacement players. Marlins can't be tossing money at 15 new players for nothing.

  21. The response to this is in such stark contrast to the response we saw in March. All it took was a few positive tests in Italy in March and Serie A completely shut down. That had a cascading effect around the globe and within a week everything was closed. Fast forward four months and we lose half a team to positive tests and we plow forward. I’ll resist the urge to psychoanalyze why that is but it certainly didn’t take long for our sports organizations to change their mentality about playing at a price.

  23. I say test the Braves visitors locker room. Probably did not disinfect, or the Atlanta hotel. We were 100% negative for three weeks while working out in Miami. Heard an ESPN late night radio host blaming Miami and the "irresponsible" Marlins for risking baseball's re-opening. No proof, he was just being an a...hole.

  24. That's very true, but let's not pretend that Miami isn't a virus hotbed currently. This outbreak just made everyone more afraid by a lot.

  32. They need to call the players out too. Both the players and the owners were too concerned about the damn money than conducting a thorough process on the health side. I don’t believe for a second it was a major part of the negotiations and you can see why. The testing not being ready, rules or common sense practices not being followed by teams. I hate how we are getting blamed when Atlanta one of the teams with the first bigger group of cases. I don’t even live in Florida but y’all getting the blame and the team probably didn’t have anything to do with it. Masks, if they work, sh
