  1. All due respect to the Giants organization and I hope for all involved to recover quickly, but ... Get fucked, Henry.

  2. I'm not sure my former friend would blocking me or not … By the way, it seems the Giants would have much higher possibility to finish the season without completing the 60 regular season game now, what a shame Henry.

  3. After a rough start to the year, Brinson has really turned it on. He is slashing .313/.333/.656 in the last 32 AB's and .286/.333.786 in his last 14 AB's. He has a .238/.294/.429 overall in 63 AB's. He probably won't get enough AB's or attention the win Comeback Player of the Year in the NL, but he is certainly the Marlins best candidate so far. Who else in the league is a good candidate for the award?

  7. and an in-season trade may have given them the extra boost they really needed to get there as Daulton was clutch for Miami after coming on board. They did buy a few key pieces for sure though but it still took that trade and contributions from the '96 Marlins to become a WS winner. And MOST WS teams do buy some pieces to fill out their roster - it's not like it was that unusual. That was indeed the best professional baseball team Miami has ever fielded. Not nearly as fun as the 2003 team but for just pure ability? Yeah 1997.

  8. I know an entire front office staff that would be happier than you in that situation lol

  9. Stating the obvious but winning 2 of the first 3 is already huge. In a sense, we just won a 3 game series over the Phillies. Now we can look ahead to a 4 game series against them and at minimum we just have to go 2-2 to have a successful overall week.

  10. Fyi this win last night had big contributions from Brinson, Isan, and Monte, which takes me to a point I've been saying for a while. We may not ever win the Yelich trade if you wanna go by comparing WAR numbers but if Lewis, Isan, and Monte are productive members of this team for a good numbers of years then all the ragging about the Yelich trade being the worst trade ever is crap. There are plenty of worse trades where the return has done virtually nothing at the MLB level. I know this was only one game and it will take years to see if I'm right but last night illustrates that trade

  11. And running full speed, where-as Aguilar has to get the ball and throw it still from let's say 65 feet away. Then it has to be a good throw. Then Alfaro has to be able to get around and tag the runner that he hasn't been looking at and has no idea where he's at. So no, just to first.

  15. Gonna need Sixto to get things turned around for the pitching tomorrow because this week’s pitching is “not crispy.”

  18. I'm getting way too upset about this platooning Brinson stuff. But I'm starting to hate seeing Mattingly and his mullet after he sticks to that platoon no matter what.

  19. Start Brinson every day. No more platoon.

  20. It was the same with Brinson, though - just working the approach into the game and then adding in the power a bit more. A good chunk of Brinson's contact early in the season was soft fly balls, soft grounders - slowly but surely, he trusted his approach more to take some heavier rips and we're seeing those results now. I feel like it'll be the same for Isan.

  21. Dude I love miggy...he got down on a knee and smothered that shorthop. He was NOT letting that get past him. Some other douche bag would approach it from the side and try to scoop it (Villar). The little things ♥️

  24. If Neidert pitches well tomorrow, he needs to replace Jose in the rotation going forward.

  33. I think that’s actually the issue, I think everywhere else they’re a little more aggressive and here they try to poke something the opposite way like Aguilar did. Obviously I’m glad to see him get a hit, but his role on the team isn’t to poke a single through the shift.

  36. Nah he was slightly behind, plus he had been recovering from TJ before last season.

  37. To be fair, when you dig a little deeper, Spencer Howard's expected stats show ... (checks notes) .455 slugging allowed, expected ERA of 4.47, xwOBA of .334 ... ... yeah we shouldn't have zero hits. BUT. It's only the fourth.

  38. Garrett shouldn't be called up TBH. Neidert should be pitching tomorrow. Cabrera's just working on that injury.

  41. I think Machado chilled out a bit after leaving LA, but to be fair, haven't seen him too much since then. I'll add in, the bat throwing situation is indefensible and nothing's going to make that right - really no idea why he was even doing that. Aguilar thing ... no it shouldn't have happened but Aguilar was kinda just waiting there and occupying most the bag. Dumb situation all around.

  42. Some part of me thinks Either the Phillies are cheating or all our pitchers are tipping pitches. Cause they’re hitting like the ‘27 Yankees

  43. Lost the first one by a lot. Won the second one by a little. Brinson homered. Yay.

  45. Thanks for the good job, Cervelli, you stepped up when basically half the team was out and you handled the pitching staff like a true boss. Hope to see you again next year with the Marlins or another club!
