  1. I like the lineup! I would have moved Jazz down a bit, but I'm still happy that Donnie made a change!

  2. 1. Avoid trades with the Yanks because more often than not they trade high because they can afford to absorb risk. 2. ...regardless...the Yankees love their "options." Anderson and Sierra PLUS two throw ins ain't going to cut it. 3. They don't need 1234125728354 position players. They will want pitching. 4. BA is way more valuable to our team than he is to any other team. 5. If they have soured on anyone it is Andujar...and I'll bet he gets traded and the Yanks will win that trade.

  3. Lots of speed but dang do we need to legit bats this offseason to be a playoff team again.

  4. The Marlins outperformed this year and left us all excited for 2021! Brandon Kintzler, Yimi Garcia, Brad Boxberger, Nick Vincent, and Matt Joyce are the relevant free agents. We may need to rebuild the whole bullpen, and we should be looking at either signing or acquiring a new catcher. Thoughts?

  6. Just a heads up on Kintzler because I have seen this a couple times posted already. Marlins have an option for next year so I think the Marlins will end up keeping his especially for this amount.

  8. Imagine if Harold Ramirez was healthy all year, we would have hardly seen still seen Matt Joyce starting a lot of games. 😂

  9. Yeah but I don’t think he’s around anymore (unless he’s working with the minor league squads) Also, Donnie the other day said how he’s the kind of guy that the team would want to bring in as a coach. So I’m assuming they may have had that conversation with him when he finally decided to retire. If that guy is a coach in our dugout next season it’s as big an addition as a good free agent signing IMO.

  10. No hitting. When a 1 run deficit is insurmountable, I don't care if you're a back to back Cy Young winner, you'll most likely try to do too much. Our bats have let our pitching down all postseason long.

  12. legitimate concern: Sixto has not been good when facing teams for a second (or third) time. That's something he will really have to work on in the offseason and in Spring Training. The difference between a team seeing Sixto for the first time and then a second/third time is way too drastic for someone with as much talent as he has.

  16. The reasons why we need to do our best ( I won't use the "all in" anymore because it's too controversial ) to sign Realmuto. a. upgrade the lineup significantly. b. upgrade the pitch-framing and game- calling of catcher significantly. c. reduce the growing pain of young pitchers and promote the performance of veteran pitchers. d. relieve pressure on Wallach and he would be a great back up catcher. e. reduce the blaming of traded star players in this new regime because they sign back one. I don't like the word of "overpaying " because it seems be the excuse of

  17. I actually think your post will sit very well, as I think the majority of the forum likes Mattingly and I am the outspoken one. My feelings on him are kind of complex, because I understand that we don't make it to the playoffs without him, but I think we make it deeper into the playoffs without him too. I can admit when he does things right (check the game thread re: his bullpen usage today), but it happens pretty rarely in-game, so it's hard to notice. In between games? In the clubhouse? On the team plane? Even at Spring Training? There's no one I'd rather have managing the team than Don Matt

  18. The Marlins TV numbers have come out for 2020, let’s set the table first: We had 59 games on Fox Sports Florida, because of the 1 YouTube game. 1. We only had approx. a 17% chance of making the postseason when the season started so only a few were tuned in at the beginning. 2. Many of our games were part of 7 inning doubleheaders which caps total viewership to a more finite period (2.5 hours instead of 3 hours) and moves some games to during the 9-5 workday. 3. Marlins games had to compete with Miami Heat games 12 TIMES in the 59 game RSN season, many of which were playoff

  19. Again do me a favor and look at the stats. Yankees want controllable pitching it doesn't even have to be veteran they just gotta be good. But yeah lemme know what the Urshela deal costs you. Because your offer is laughable at best. Yes it would absolutely take a top pitcher like Sandy or Lopez to land someone like Urshela because like you say he is an impact bat. Not once did I say he wasn't good. He is better than Anderson and teams know that. Yankees know that. I wanna see the Marlins succeed, I been watching them for longer than just about anyone else on here. But your offer just

  20. I reiterated that Urshula isn't a need and your original post doesn't get him what you are trying to offer. Yankees are gonna want young controllable pitching in return but Urshula is young and controllable as well. Facts on facts are that stats don't lie. Do yourself a favor and look at the stats and the potential of these players. NONE of those players you offered have a ceiling except Anderson. Possibly Alfaro can do something if he turns it around next year.

  21. What you are you talking about? Those prospects were good in 2018 ! Come on my dude. Keep up. ANY team wants controllable pitching. The Yankees aren't throwing money away at free agents and long contracts like they used to back in the day. Except Gerrit Cole lol. But if the Marlins were to offer Sandy or Lopez in that deal it would get it done. You are basically offering them players that don't exactly fill their needs. Instead of saying I don't get it, why don't you answer my question? What pitching would you offer?

  22. Why should we get JT when I can get value with James McCann? I mean JT is really good but I’m not locking into a catcher for 8 years. I save money with McCann that I could use elsewhere.

  23. Which one ? I only see the name of JT Realmuto.

  24. Oh I 100% get what is being said. But I strive to be realistic with what I say and I tell you that trade wouldn't happen. You are overvaluing the players outside of Anderson. You have yet to propose a pitcher in that trade. Unless it is Sandy or Lopez it isn't happening. They want pitchinggggg

  25. Gio Urshula value is more than Anderson and Diaz is a lability at the plate, it evens out even with Sierra. Urshula is a stud and would be perfect for this team.

  26. He may seek that but unless some other team is willing to go there, we won’t have to either. It’ll be interesting to see what his market is.

  27. Honestly I think the current batch outside of LB, Lewin Diaz, and Jazz need to go. Our drafted guys are coming and all the players mentioned are going to be on movable contracts. The only predicted signees I would expect to be here 3 years from now out of that group is McCann and La Stella It wouldn’t be popular but I would approach the Yankees about Gio Urshula with Andujar coming back and see if I could give them Anderson, Alfaro, Diaz and Sierra for him.

  28. Hopefully we see some of the young hitters shine next season, the way the pitchers did in 2020. Bleday, Sanchez, Monte, Lewin, let's see what we have. With Marte back and the young rotation with a ton of confidence, should be a lot of fun. I'd hate to rush to a decision on Alfaro, there seems like a lot of upside there but man, not using him in any of the playoff games was not exactly a vote of confidence. That was such a great season though, means a lot for the organization as a whole, not to mention building up the fanbase.

  38. I don't like moving Brian Anderson to the OF. He's so good at 3B, and we have decent enough outfield depth. We need to stop messing with his defense, keep him at 3B, and sign him to a short extension.

  43. No matter what your opinion is on bat flipping, I think everyone should agree Manny Machado was a fucking hypocrite last night. He launched his bat into space on a home run so the reliever flipped his hat after Bellinger robbed a home run. Manny got mad about it. Why is it ok for a hitter to celebrate, but not a pitcher? I am pretty confident the reliever only did that because of Machado's antics. It was his answer and a damn funny one if you ask me. https://twitter.com/Jomboy_/status/1314073866659127296 - The breakdown if you missed it

  44. it's quite literally that. Rumors (of course) that the pitchers asked to throw to Wallach over Alfaro.

  45. I can point to two potential game-changing bad decisions he's made in the first two games of this series that if he'd visited Fangraphs.com ONCE in his life, he'd have known not to do. Of course, making the right decision doesn't always mean getting the good result. Sometimes, Matt Joyce gets a hit. But the right decision at least gives you a better chance of achieving that result. I follow a lot of analytically-inclined writers on Twitter and they all lost their minds when Sandy came back out to face the Braves for a fourth time. The Joyce decision today is a little more questionable because
