  1. So the Phillies basically have Marlin's payroll committed to two players. That's two players that were part of last year's disaster - not new players. That tells me that even with those two, the Phillies have problems. Don't get me wrong, they're a great players, but clearly that team needs more to win.

  3. Nah. I'm not ok with your closer coming in for the 10th inning and getting a blown save by giving up a bloop single. That's not strategy, that's a cheap win. The point of that rule is to speed up games that are dragging and taking too long. What's one extra inning or two anyways? If they want that rule I say it doesn't go in effect until the 13th inning because at that point every batter has had a chance to bat in extras and at that point you can be more concerned with a game being too long.

  4. The Marlins should start their own TV network. There are ~8.5 Million TV Households in Marlins Territory 8.5 Million x $1.70 per household (could charge up to $2.35) = $173.4 Million per year $16.2 Million to produce each game. ($100,000 per game) $30 Million for purchasing other programming (INTER MIAMI), and hiring on and off air talent. After expenses the Marlins would walk out with ~$100-120 Million in profit per year. Plus the Marlins would have a 100% equity stake in the network which is worth at least $300 Million This is getting to be a no-brainer.

  11. This topic is getting out of hand. We need to get back to the future of the Marlins.

  12. Realistically, even if you think having Realmuto's ear made it easier for the Phillies to resign, all it really does is make the signing a little bit cheaper. So we should still compare what we got to just the 2 control years on JT, plus maybe $10-20 million. We definitely still come out on top.

  15. Statistically speaking, 100% of games that are tied after the conclusion of the bottom of the 12th inning do reach the 13th inning.

  17. Starting in the 13th inning would be much more acceptable. What percentage of extra inning games ever even reach the 13th anyways?

  21. I feel like Encarnación is gonna end up being the next Ozuna for us and can see him making an appearance mid to late 2021. All the other outfielders need much more time in the minors to figure their kinks out and or just need more seasoning. I wouldn’t rush Bleday/Conine/Misner but do have good expecrations for them. Sanchez and Harrison need much more time at AAA to learn to not swing at junk. Also in an unrelated topic, expect Lewin to come out firing next year after bringing his hands up over the offseason and allowing them to trade a hopefully productive Aguilar for something “nic

  22. Worth it ? I think can't blame Marlins to not sign him because even the richest Mutts didn't go for that price, now left only Colome and Rosenthal.

  25. What a dumb tweet, of course the Cards and Marlins are doing this... it's not like the Angels and Rockies can sell tickets to ST games at Roger Dean Stadium.

  29. Much rather put that $10M toward an impact bat than a closer given the current make up of the team. A closer won’t have any leads to protect if we don’t score runs. Now go out and sign Rosario and trade for Contreras!
