  1. So glad that Kim rejected it. Biggest difference between the new ownership and the Loria regime is that they actually value the prospects in the system.

  2. Yes yes and yes. I said it many times, if Elieser gets that change-up to be at least decent, he adds another inning to his outings.

  4. Just can't wait to beat Kintzler and his Phillies (of course he needs to make that team first ).

  5. Has anyone ever noticed that there are teams called Carolina Panthers and Carolina Hurricanes and Florida Panthers and Miami Hurricanes. Carolina are such copycats.. And yes I checked.. the Florida teams with those names have been around longer.. Actually, if anyone is old enough to remember, the Carolina Hurricanes used to be the "Hartford Whalers" before 1997. I used to always pick the Hartford Whalers on the NHL '96 game on Sega Genesis, just because they had Chris Pronger at that time. 😂

  6. Hockey has a lot of skilled players and it’s pretty high scoring these days too. Shutouts are rare. It is a great game. Join the bandwagon.

  7. I sense domestic drama here. Who is Carolina?

  9. I feel like I have been one of the more vocal advocates of having a short leash on Elieser. But this changeup could really be a game changer. Great news.

  10. I’m more worried that the inflammation was known earlier this winter and it’s still lingering now. I’m not going to speculate because it won’t do any good. We will have to wait and see. In the long term, I wouldn’t worry about him. At the worst it may be just a season pushed back from rehabilitation.

  11. Cubs: "here's our suggested offer." *Marlins read offer* Kim Ng: "We'll ... have Michael Hill contact you soon."

  12. That is the kind of offer that doesn't even deserve a counter.

  13. Try @Michael’s method of a lead off single, a stolen base, and a bloop single. Seems it worked for him that one time.

  16. They sent Sixto to another planet? That's some extreme quarantine measures right there.

  19. No love for the DS-G trade? It's hard to feel like that's anything but moving the goalposts. This team had not reached in the playoffs in 17 years -- SEVENTEEN YEARS. And Jeter did in Year 3. Circumstances were weird, yeah, but the weird circumstances didn't let the Rockies in or Mets in or the Mariners in. Moreover, this club did it while undergoing the worst COVID outbreak in the league. And to your points above about the trade, yeah, it's tough to analyze with everyone constantly changing their stories. I believe it was Dave Cameron who used to always say you need to analyze tr

  20. This is something I am a little concerned about with this year's starting rotation. We need an older guy who has been in the league a while to be in the rotation not only to eat up innings but also to bring gifts to the other pitchers: Veteran presents.

  21. Since he doesn't know how to use an opener, I wonder who opens Mattingly's cans for him?

  22. This is ancient history now, but I still can clearly remember before the 2004, the expectations and general feeling around the Marlins going into that season was very good, seeing as most of the roster was returning, including Beckett, Willis, Penny, Pavano, AJ Burnett was healthy again and of course Cabrera, Pierre, Castillo, Lowell, and even us Marlins fans were pretty excited about Hee Seop Choi. 😂 Just that whole general feeling of coming off the WS win and going into the ‘04 season, was a pretty fun time as a Marlins fan! But yes, I agree, this upcoming season has a diffe

  23. Anyways, is 2021 the most realistically high expectations for a Marlins team in quite some time? The 2020 playoff spot helps as a little bit of proof that this team is capable of winning but I think it's more than just that. This team is not tanking, they're trying to win, they're built to win, even in a division where it's not gonna be easy. And yes they may ultimately fail but I don't know if I've ever been more expecting of a very good Marlins team at the start of spring training like I am with this one. Can anyone else compare the 2021 expectations to other past seasons? I

  24. Corey Dickerson is a great guy except for one big thing... I heard him on a local radio station interview last year and he claims he has never eaten a hot dog in his life. That's just weird. I can understand an adult who makes dietary choices and stays away from a hot dog but I don't understand how he could have gone his entire youth without ever eating a hot dog. Something really strange there. Knowing this blog, I'm sure this will open up an intense conversation about hot dogs...
