  1. Marlins try to even the series Pitching Match up: Ace Sandy toes the rubber for the Fish. John Gant (RHP) opposes for St. Louis. Stats to note: This is Gant's first start since September 26th, 2018. He has had a 3.43 ERA in 81.1 innings out of the pen since. Walks have been an issue in his career as he supports a 4.4 BB/9 since his debut. Since he was acquired on December 14th, 2017 Sandy is 2nd on the team in K's (Smith) and innings (Ureña). He paces the club with a 3.69 ERA among qualified starting pitchers. He should pass Ureña in innings by his

  4. Rotation is the only thing that's been as advertised, even with Elieser getting hurt. Rogers had a shaky beginning and settled in nicely after. So outside of literally two innings ...

  5. I know it's early but this team (with the exception of the starting pitching) needs a huge kick in the ass (Don too)

  9. I don't think many people disagree that Mattingly's in game management is questionable at best. What he's great at is run a good clubhouse. Also, what he did with Rogers yesterday and put his arm around him and have a laugh with while reassuring him, that's what Mattingly brings that makes his players love him. I know those are intangibles but it worked last season and kept the teams spirits up during trying times. He just needs to let someone else manage on the field. LOL

  25. Some of my favorites was the one when I said like “Hey Rich, I read on the Marlins website that you used to play baseball in college. Was playing baseball something you were seriously pursuing, or just something you did for fun on the way to your dream job of being a Broadcaster?” Tommy was reading the email to Rich and it sounded like Rich was low key offended. 😂 Another one I remember was when the Marlins were in Atlanta and one of the games, FS Florida wasn’t broadcasting that night and I asked them if they still watched the game even on their day off. 😂

  26. Didn't try as much. I got one submitted though where I heard a can open in the background of the broadcast, so I tweeted and said, "I heard you open that can, Tommy, what are you drinking this evening?" (It was a Diet Sprite, he says)

  30. Thanks! Yeah, my first season as a Marlins fan began officially at the beginning of the ‘03 season, not after they won the WS, but at the very beginning of that year, actually my first Marlins game was in May of ‘03 a few days before they called up Dontrelle Willis. Prior to that I was a Cardinals fan, but that was mainly because I was a young kid during the McGwire years and my family lived around the STL area during those seasons. Great time to be a baseball fan! And the Cardinals always have a special part of my memories as a kid learning about baseball, but since the beginning of

  34. Actually I was there and the wind was nuts. Even in batting practice we were remarking on how these balls looked like they’re we’re going to the upper deck then all of a sudden just did a sharp 90 degree drop. With that said, it works both ways. Yadi’s double would have been gone otherwise

  36. It’s adorable that we are scoreboard watching the first week of April. Donnie is gonna cost us 4-5 wins this year just by making dumb lineups. There’s no excuse for Jazz not being in the lineup.

  37. Completely agree. Miami was at its best last year when they could get speed on the bases (Villar, Berti), steal a bag/create some chaos, and then find a way to drive that guy in. Miami was leading the league in stolen bases for a good portion of last year. That was our calling card. The Corey Dickerson leadoff experiment needs to end. I understand what they’re trying to do (get your best hitters the most ABs), but Dickerson isnt our best hitter. He hasn’t been a top 2-3 hitter on this team since he came to Miami. Move him down in the order and mix it up

  38. In more serious terms, though. The lead-off batter needs to either be Marte, Rojas, or Jazz. Dickerson, move him down to 6th or 7th, or honestly, on the bench. I'd probably go with ... Jazz Marte Aguilar Cooper (RF) Anderson Duvall (LF) Alfaro Rojas Pitcher Throw Berti in there somewhere twice a week, maybe against a lefty, keep Dickerson on the bench (we actually need a lefty on the bench besides Sierra), and keep the best bats in the lineup full time. Rojas 8th because he'll give better AB before the pitcher than Alfaro would.

  39. This is the problem with what MLB chose to do here. By choosing to take action in something that has two sides you basically alienate half of your fanbase. They should have stayed out of this. The ASG was for baseball fans in Atlanta, the community in Atlanta, and for the Atlanta Braves organization. It wasn't just for one political party or another. Taking the game away from them was a bad idea even if you don't agree with the law in Georgia. The ASG had nothing to do with that law. Sports should only take action in anything political if it's something unanimous across all parties, whic

  40. Damn and you didn't even get the hats? I mean it's the least of all the things but they could have at least sent that for some goodwill. Total screwjob, you should have been refunded 100% of the cost and been sent the hats. If they couldn't have refunded the total amount they should have at least given you equal value in whatever credit you get. So maybe giving you NINE free ticket vouchers or something like that. Because you wanted 9 tickets and didn't get them but now you can't even purchase 9 tickets with what you were given back, totally doesn't add up.

  41. Michael is a real Marlins fan and will move on from this but imagine how upset a casual fan who bought that bundle will be when they find out about this. IF they even realize it! This is a really bad PR move not to mention the bad business move it is. Not good. Loria-level move here Mr. Jeter!
