  1. JORGE ALFARO APPRECIATION THREAD What a freakin' game. Sandy pitched great til the 7th. Aggy with some big hits tonight. Marte tying it in the 9th. Alfaro with three HUMONGOUS RBIs AAAAAND do NOT forget his play in the top of the 10th to throw Solano out on that bunt. WE'RE AT .500! Edit - in the excitement of Alfaro's walk-off, I very briefly forgot about Aggy's RIDICULOUS save in the 10th.

  3. I know it’s still very early in the season and the Marlins still have 73 games left at home this season, but if they play well and have a winning record at home this season, that could be the difference between making the post season or not. Of course, it’s way too early to be thinking about that, but I like the way they have been playing over the past week!

  6. Corey Dickerson was actually praying in the dugout in the 9th inning for a comeback. Haven’t seen that from a big league team in awhile. The dugout is into it, the team really cares. Pablo, let’s get the sweep tomorrow!

  7. Marlins playing game 2 of the three game weekend series vs. the Giants. The Marlins ace Sandy Alcantara, will be starting his fourth game of the regular season and is looking for his first win after three solid starts to begin the season. Entering the game, Sandy is currently in the top 10 in the NL in Strikeouts, WHIP and lowest Batting Average Against. After missing all of the 2020 season recovering from a torn right capsule in his shoulder, former 2016 All Star, Aaron Sanchez, who signed with San Francisco as a free agent in Feburary, will be taking the mound for the Giants. Let's keep building momentum and continue this homestand off strong!

  8. Alfaro 9th inning RBI single: 107.5 mph Alfaro 10th inning RBI double: 110.8 mph I think he's seeing the ball fairly well.

  9. anyone else notice how poorly Bally's has been doing with keeping track of in-game stats on their graphic? They constantly, and I mean CONSTANTLY, fail to update the count in a timely fashion, fail at keep tabs at which bases have runners on, and man, seeing walks represented as W drives me nuts. There's literally nowhere else that uses a W to represent walks. They don't even always keep the number of outs correct. You'd think this wouldn't be a challenging task considered how many DECADES these sorts of things have existed for tv. It's truly horrendous. I don't know if it's JUST for the Marlins games or if it goes both ways. The wife and I will be watching the Giants feed today though because we stopped listening to Hollytime awhile ago (no volume at all - also how we've come to really notice how poorly Bally's is doing with keeping the in-game stuff updated). I listened in for a bit yesterday to the Giants guys and they didn't seem too bad. Braves announces are worse than Hollytime and have an air of snobbishness. I think the Nats guys are the same way if I remember from previous seasons. Anyway. Here's to keeping Miami a house of horrors for the Giants! Let's get another streak going with another win!

  10. 100% agree on frontloading the contract. will make him WAAAAY easier to trade, or even keep for a 4th OF, if his production dips in years 4-5.

  11. Love those clutch 8th inning runs when at home. Castano was solid and I noticed that he was also throwing harder and touching 93-94 several times. He’s usually in the 90-91 range.

  13. Don’t worry, probably after his next 0-4 game sometime next week, we’ll be right back to normal, complaining about Alfaro and hoping for Contreras. But until then, Jorge is our new fave!

  14. The team is, at the very least, proving that they aren't a lock to be the last place team in the division. It'll still take some slip ups from the other four teams but the Marlins aren't doormats in the East.

  18. Yup. Don put Bass in a role he should not have been in... I don't trust Det much either but if you're gonna go lefty, he should have been in before Bleier....

  19. The only reason you ever bring in bleier is to face a lefty

  21. In the meantime, I wouldn’t mind seeing Rojas moved to third base, Jazz back to his natural position at SS, and Berti playing every day at 2B, with BA either moved to ATS for a bit, or moved to the bench as backup 3B/OF/C. 😂 Of course, Berti could also take over at third. But I like Jazz at SS compared to 2B. Well, doesn’t matter, I doubt anyone from the Marlins would consider that above scenario, but it could be a short term solution to get Berti more at bats.

  23. He's proven - I'm alright with a 5yr, knowing that yrs 4-5 are likely bench, trade, or release years. As long as it's a reasonable 5yr deal - just don't be reckless. He's valuable now as a player, but his mentality & character are valuable to our prospects over the next few years.

  24. Why is that bad news? We should have enough money to keep him lol.

  27. We only have 1 outfield prospect at the moment (Bleday) and he’ll be replacing Dickerson, I would hope. Starling should be in the long term plans as long as the team remains competitive.

  35. yep, they did the same thing the other day with a guy a second. there was literally NOBODY on second for the last two outs although it was on the graphic.

  36. I made the joke on these forums the other day, that it sometimes feels like due to everything that happened last year, they had to lay off their regular graphics guy and hired some intern(s) to do the graphics to save money, and those new people they hired aren't baseball fans or very experienced with live tv, or both. Either that or maybe they have less staff this year than in the past and maybe the graphics guy has to do a lot of things at once. Whatever is the reason, I have definitely noticed a change this season with the new graphics on the screen. The other day, for example, they showed that a runner was at first base, when the bases were empty, and it wasn't just for a minute, it was for a whole at bat, and I guess nobody working the graphics noticed it. 😂

  37. A Marlins win today will get them to .500 for the first time all season! Although, if they don't win today, I'll still be happy if they win tomorrow to win the series and they can get to .500 next week against the Orioles. A series sweep over the Giants would would fine as well! 😂

  38. Let's flip the M and win the series!

  39. Thanks for the info! Wow.... that's very sad and weak.... to penalize a pitcher throwing a PG into the 10th bc of the stupid rule... incredible! Manfred has ruin the game for real. And of course I know the odds are really low of that scenario happening but still how are you gonna ruin history bc of a stupid rule??? 🤦🏻‍♂️
