  1. Brinson and Isan have got to earn those spots this week. If they perform poorly, send em to Jacksonville where they can get full playing time and try to work on what they have to fix (yet again). I honestly think with those two it's more mental than anything. Besides, Brinson doesn't have another option after this year, so it won't delay any process of moving into next year as he's concerned. Isan still has options, still won't delay any process of moving on next year. Either they perform or they don't. Jazz has second locked down for now and we have about 35 more outfield options. Devers yes, send him down - clearly overmatched at the moment. Sierra has to be DFA'd, can't be outright sent down. Not against it, though! Let Bleday get at least a month at AA before bringing him up. I'm with you, though, we should definitely start moving ahead and this team will most likely look very different in the next 5 to 8 eights.

  2. I'm glad I made the right decision and took the wife out to buy her some patio furniture instead of watching another awful game from our low A offense. With Scherzer on the mound I figured it would be an automatic loss anyway even those sweeps are typically hard to get no matter how crap one of the two teams are. Last I heard Marte said it was still too sore to swing so I'm guessing he's going to be out at least another month-ish? Front office needs to invest in a quality FA bat this offseason because wasting all these pitching performances is criminal. At this point there's literally no point in keeping Bleday down any longer. I guarantee you he won't be any worse than whoever they send back and he can start getting regular at bats now.

  3. Cooper has proven to be a major league caliber hitter over 700 plate appearances at the big league level. He probably shouldn’t be starting every day, but he’s not a bad hitter. Compared to some of the other guys I mentioned in the thread, he’s a Hall of Famer.

  4. Guarantee that has nothing to do with it.

  5. Marlins looking to win final game of series, after being asleep for the first two games. Trevor Rogers is entering the game in 4th place in MLB with an ERA of 1.29. He is also tied for third place in MLB with 3 wins so far this season. Max Scherzer is pitching for the Nats. He is, well, Max Scherzer. Let’s see if the Marlins continue with their 2021 trend of playing pretty well against elite pitchers and struggling against pretty much everyone else. Let’s finish up this road trip with a win before the day off on Monday!

  6. Maybe having Aguilar and Miggy in the game today would have made a difference? Isan with a nice all around game today. Great job by the pen.

  8. This team not only have the innings limit for the young pitchers but also have the plate appearances limit for the veteran hitters …

  10. this is irritating because everyone else has played so poorly and the pitching has been there that if they even fielded an average offense they'd likely be at .500 at this juncture.

  11. I really don't understand this line of thinking. As if he's that bad. Even if he was, there are several other candidates in today's lineup that'd be well above him on a DFA list.

  12. To be fair, Wallach and Sandy are just like most back up catchers in MLB.

  13. Chad Wallach, Sandy Leon, Jose Devers, Isan Diaz, Lewis Brinson, Monte Harrison, Magnerius Sierra Paul Campbell starting major league games. And a few guys in the bullpen that can be considered too. Guys who do not belong in the show, but we’re stuck with them on the roster right now.

  14. Ok, now activate Andy. Hope Jazzy, Marte, Alfaro follow. Lets sweep the dbacks!

  16. The steal made sense. We were only down 3, still a game. It's simply because Monte did it you don't like it.

  17. The steal makes no sense in that situation. I don’t really care, and I don’t see how it’s slander when he obviously is not good. We’ve gone from Starling Marte to Monte Brinson, worst downgrade ever.

  18. I think it’s much more worthwhile to have them play than cooper

  20. He’s stealing that base for his personal stats pretty much. He should probably be benched for trying it and being called out, but we’re out of players so I guess he’ll play some more.

  24. Gotta keep 35FV Paul Campbell on the roster

  25. Holloway and Pop have potential to be late inning relievers if they keep throwing strikes. And Bender too, but I guess we’re pretending he doesn’t exist.

  26. Lolololol We just took out Rogers for pinch hit bunt right back to the pitcher. Thanks Sierra, now go play 2B.

  27. Monte showing that improved approach again, hacking at a first pitch slider for a grounder to the pitcher.

  28. Very quietly, Jose Devers is proving that...he does not belong in the big leagues lol.

  29. He also doesn't have his best command today. Too many walks and behind in the count alot.

  30. I feel like Brinson doesn't get to be called "Sweet Lew" until he does something consistently. And being bad/rolling into double plays doesn't count.

  31. It’s too early in the season to be pissing me off this much. Donnie is quickly wearing out his welcome. No reason not to put your best lineup out today

  32. Cooper and Duvall are really bad, without Marte and BA, you just couldn't win the game when Aguilar is the only producer. If Cooper and Duvall continue hitting bad I just don't think they would staying in the Miami long time.

  35. “Exciting times to be a Marlins fan, things are only going to get better.” - Todd Hollandsworth. As a Marlins fan that is what you hear every single year. Still waiting for things to get better, since every single season feels like a rebuild and the Marlins have been “3-4 years away” from being a contender for the last 15 years.
