  1. Mish's take on Twitter was super interesting. He basically said that the issue with this FO (and Don, imo) is that they give guys too many chances and wait too long to decide that a guy is bad. Teams like the Rays move on quickly and trade or demote dudes like Corey Dickerson and Isan Diaz. No way you'd see Isan starting every day on the Rays or (this version of) Dickerson batting in the middle of the order. "But there's no one else because our infield depth and injury issues..." there are literally players at every minor league level who are playing 2B/3B and who deserve a chance over Isan Diaz right now. The guy is one of the worst players in baseball when he's batting and he also plays awful defense and sucks as a base runner. There is a chance the other infielders in the Marlins system will be just as bad, but there is almost no chance they will be worse. Why do we need to watch Isan struggle for another 100 plate appearances before anything happens? It's like when Anderson got hurt, the FO thought, "well, it'll be Isan until Anderson gets back" and it's almost a free pass no matter what Isan does. Dude doesn't even show much effort on the field, makes physical and mental mistakes and literally costs the team scoring chances almost every day. So what happens the next day? Right back in the starting lineup.

  3. Welcome to 2021. Where your intentions are not yours to have but rather dictated and established by a population of people (read children) that believe "racism" is destroying our society, when in reality it's the unfounded mob belief that our society is destroyed in the first place that is truly dividing and destroying it. The division itself is what's dividing the country...how is that not obvious? My source? I'm a "POC" minority myself that owns my own business, feeds over 50 families directly (not counting the hundreds I feed indirectly through the course of my daily work) and doesn't give 3 flying fucks what anyone in this world thinks or says. I go about my daily life like anyone else cause I was taught that way by my refugee mother. I was never taught to believe myself to be a "victim" of anyone or anything. And I've lived outside of South Florida for fucking years so it's not cause I live around a bunch of minorities. To call what Brendly did racist and to call a multi-millionaire athlete with a shoe company a "victim" is a fucking slap in the face to the black people who came before him that faced REAL fucking racism. Cause in my book, racism is segregation, telling your daughter she can't marry someone who isn't part of your race, telling me to go back to my country even though I was born here (which has happened to me so many times in my life that I literally wouldn't care to count)....what Brenly did is just a dumb joke that someone with their balls set firmly on their body wouldn't allow themselves to be affected by because they'd understand that they're 100% above someone else's words/opinions. Huge difference between something "racial" and something "racist". Everyone needs to grow the fuck up and worry about themselves. Once they do, they'll realize it's their own bullshit mentality that kept them back, not anyone or anything else.

  4. The only positive from this annoying claim is that it proof we are getting closer to finally jumping the shark on this narrative. When you gotta reach this far, you’re running out of shit to say

  9. First, it's not racist. More of an age thing. Players back then dressed and acted differently than players do today. Society in general acts much different. If he would have used Bib Gibson as an example instead of Tom Seaver, would it still be racist? Second, there are thugs in all races and they come in all colors. Why does using the word thug automatically mean that it's referring to a black person? What makes the word racist? The fact that someone used the word thug, or the fact a person heard the word and automatically associated it with a black person? Not taking a shot at you SITA, I know you were using it as an example. Just trying to get a point across.

  10. Sounds fun! I had a dispute with Amazon a couple years ago over a sewing machine that was clearly delivered to the wrong address as the driver took a picture of the box it was in and it clearly was not my doorstep (not to mention I work from home and was sitting by the front window all day at my desk including the time it was supposedly delivered). The Amazon agent asked if I looked very carefully all around my front door to see if I was just "overlooking" this giant ass box and no matter how many times I said the picture was NOT my house they stuck with "I'm sorry, we show the box was left by your doorstep". It took around a month but I kept at it until they sent another one that made it here. No idea who's house it was left at either. I walked up and down my block and looked at the doorsteps to see if I saw the matching doorstep it was left at and couldn't find it.

To add to your point: https://nypost.com/2020/06/05/marcell-ozuna-injured-after-wife-hit-him-with-soap-dish-report/ https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8392753/Wife-Braves-Marcell-Ozuna-arrested-domestic-battery-hitting-soap-dish.html She's also a domestic violence abuser. Yet, she gets no jail time, and even the order to stay away was amended...oh, and the laceration Ozuna got "wasn't serious", but hand bruising is? Double standards. They're both shitty people for doing that to each other but I can't stand when some are treated differently than others when it comes to the law.

  24. i yearn for the days of old when baseball wasn't built around the whole 3 true outcomes. it really has made the game more boring. I still love baseball more than any of the other major sports but i miss the lineups build around speed and contact. they're just more fun to watch, at least imo. at some point it'll probably return again as things change and new tactics are embraced. really does seem like the lighter ball this year is really depressing the offense even more by giving pitchers some extra movement. I even read that the new ball increases the exit velocity off the bat but the ball actually dies down mid-air which may explain why some of those balls that are well hit end up being caught

  25. if anything it sounds a lot more like micro-aggression than racism unless you truly want to believe that Bob Brenly believes black people are inferior and he was being malicious at the time he said that. go take a look the definitions of racism and also that of micro-aggression (which can be entirely unintentional) and come back and see if you still agree he was being racist.

  29. Last year I had a problem because FedEx lost a package that I had ordered from MLB Shop and in my endless back and forth with them FedEx asked me to verify who I had purchased this package from and I said MLB Shop and the guy told me that was wrong and I said then it's probably MLB and the guy said no and I was like wtf I went on MLB Shop.com and I placed an order with MLB or MLB Shop, that's all it can say, and eventually the guy gave in and told me it was Fanatics. So stupid. I don't care who runs the place, I was still purchasing from MLB Shop. Pepsi owns Taco Bell, if I ordered food from Taco Bell I will say I made a purchase from Taco Bell, not Pepsi.

  37. They rank near the bottom in strike outs, walks, HRs, and runs scored. You could scramble the line-ups of any other team and they wouldn’t just disappear like this team does. Last year should prove that something is wrong besides a line-up construction. If a manager, day in and day out refuses to put his players in the best position to win, in time the players are going to do the same. They know who should be out there and how the gm should be managed.

  39. Honestly? If internally, they see him as a reliever more than a starter, I'd look for trade candidates before even using him as a reliever in case he sucks and/or gets injured again. Not even kidding - if that's what they think he's gonna end up as - would provide WAY more value to the Marlins than a reliever as I think he would still fetch a premium player/prospect at this point.

  44. I'll give Sandy a pass here... Starting pitching can't always be perfect.... When you see the line-up Don trots out there (not getting into depth and injuries here) VS the Blue Jays line-up, it's no contest FO really needs to improve the on-field product by start of next season Don needs to stop treating this team like it's in rebuild mode and hold players accountable like Trader Jack would. If a player's performance is slipping and needs a kick in the ass, Don needs to tell it like it is. Yeah, we have guys who should be in lower levels of the farm but Don's coddling of them isn't helping. Maybe these kids will respond to having a match lit underneath them. I just don't get a sense of urgency or "We are in win now mode" from Don (or the FO for that matter) OK. I'm done venting. I needed it. Very frustrating when you see this team struggling after a playoff season. I'm more annoyed with Don and the FO than I am with the players.
