  1. you'd think they'd at least bring him up so he can be injured during pregame warmup and be put on the IL like everyone else then they'll have their excuse as to why he's not playing

  3. Give a politically correct statement that you’re interested at least. It would be nice for the fans. Could’ve done the same with Marte. Instead we get a blah answer of there being no discussions. The optics make it seem like they’re not even interested in discussing. You literally stopped being a Marlins fan because of Loria, and sometimes it feels like he’s still here. We, the real Marlins fans, would like to see an interest in spending money at this point of the rebuild. For all the talk of Kim Ng inheriting a bad situation, it’s worth noting that she actually inherited one of the best starting rotations in the big leagues that any GM would love to have. Fans don’t want to hear the excuses.

  4. Yes. Just this season alone, he learned how to play 2B. Getting better and better every year.

  5. While I won’t say it’s on the level that FishFry reasons, domestic violence against men happens more than many think. Underreported and undercharged for a number of reasons.

  7. Turn off the tv, the 60 minutes and the Hollywood propaganda and you might actually see the world around you without someone else forming it for you. Women can divorce men just on the grounds of not being happy, while the suicide rate of a divorced man is 9 to 1 over a woman. The chances of a woman being arrested for domestic violence is probably under 50% compared to man who can be arrested just for a complaint without proof or prior history. It’s also significantly proven that men overwhelmingly do not report physical abuse, let alone on the same grounds as a woman. Ozuna will be punished (rightfully so) and she will be rewarded, and it will only strengthen your viewpoints of being uninformed. Go ahead and laugh it off, while innocent men are being destroyed from their families everyday.

  8. It’s both of the front office and Don’s fault. Don’s in game decisions haven’t improved and year after year he’s still the same manager LA had to fire to win a World Series. The front office on the other hand refused to add bridge players to this lineup. They signed Duvall, a career platooner, and expect that somehow he’ll be an every day player while Tyler Naquin, who always hit, is killing it in Cincy and UTL guys like Eire Adrianza and Josh Harrison are producing as well and would’ve stretched the bench. Heck, Harrison is good enough to have been a Day 1 starter here and it would’ve moved BA to RF where his athleticism would’ve played better. There’s a clear difference between Hill and Ng and I didn’t think that highly of Hill.

  9. I mean what did you expect her to do with no real budget to acquire players? Since the Marlins make decisions as a group, I"m sure one of 'Jeter's guys' are big fans of Berti and wouldnt give him up for Andrew, you know since they 'found him' when others didnt see a big leaguer player in him.

  10. I love how every time Kim Ng is asked about a specific player, she says she needs more time to evaluate the player. She "wants to get a pretty good idea" of what Jazz is going to be in the future. Said the same thing about Brian Anderson before the season. Mike Hill gave better answers in his interviews, and he couldn't have been more political. Also, she's basically admitting that the offense stinks and she expected it to stink/did nothing about it? Lol.

  13. Can somebody ask Don Mattingly why Isan is always allowed to swing 3-0, by the way? I know Isan is an all time great, but still. Also, can somebody ask Corey Dickerson why he felt the need to steal a base in the 8th inning? Just a couple of questions after this loss, which, in all honesty, feels like a win considering we lost by less than 3 runs.

  32. Domestic issues are on the rise and are definitely underreported. Courts treat the father like a second class citizen in custody cases. The burden of proof on custody is so fucking skewed its crazy. A father has to show insanely overwhelming evidence that he should have custody over the mother that its insane. Its a product of our history though: Male - provider Female - nurturer What's muddied this water that nobody has really figured out how to properly react is the rise of equality toward women. Women should be paid the same for jobs. But women should also be required to sign up for selective service. Women should have the same opportunities as men, but also the same responsibilities. But we arent even close in the USA to that existing on any of those fronts.

  34. No, this is a Kim Ng built a bullpen with average stuff issue. That’s why “you can only shuffle the same cards so much.” The shuffling is irrelevant because the pieces put together by the GM are underwhelming.

  35. I believe @FishFry meant demotion within the bullpen itself (IE - take Anthony Bass out of higher leverage roles), not necessarily demotion to AAA. Shuffle the deck within the bullpen, so to speak.

  36. Let’s be honest, it wouldn’t be the most unbelievable thing to happen between a FO and player
    1 point
  37. I do blame the FO / ownership around Ng a bit for taking so long on the TV deal and ballpark naming rights. If they had secured that a little earlier (say, October?), then she (and the other decision-makers) would have had (some/more) money to spend. This coming offseason will be really telling as to the cheapness or otherwise of this group. And to anyone who says "that's moving goalposts back," I will tell you now, yes, it is moving them a little bit, but that's as far back as they'll go for me. I said at the start that I'm giving this group five years. 2022 is year five. Need a winning record next year and something that looks sustainable. There should have been call-ups already, I'll agree with that. They're probably waiting until the trade deadline unfortunately. I have no proof of this! Just speculation. They don't want to bench millions of dollars which is unfortunate. It's not showing commitment to winning at all costs right now and we are seeing some of that unfold. Just my two cents (which is now seven cents but worth less than those two cents due to inflation).

  39. That’s the problem as a whole with this FO. We’re deep but all of them are a year away. Shit, Devers is at least 2 but he’s somehow showing competency up here(speaks to his potential) but did we add any bridge guys? No. We had to “fix” a bullpen and completely ignore that the fielding rotation was ridiculously top heavy. We easily could’ve added someone like Eire Adrianza, Charlie Culbertson, Hanser Alberto, Josh Harrison, etc just to stretch the bench but nope! We need to go add Zach Pop.
