  2. I know this game is meaningless to us at this point, but why not have a defensive sub in LF for the 9th? Yet another 1 run loss I will go on record with this: The Marlins will not make playoffs again with Mattingly at the helm

  3. Honestly, a blown game on a bullpen mismanagement / meltdown and Alfaro out of position error is peak 2021 Marlins...

  4. How about we just sign guys or acquire guys to improve the lineup without moving players to random positions and inevitably making our defense shit?

  5. Amazing bull pen management and Bass sucks. Truly an April game

  6. I feel like you guys hate this team equally and are having a little poor communication. Don't worry - we are all equally sick of this awful excuse of a team and all the money and perks Jeter and Co. are getting with owning this team...while we suffer.

  8. The only way we'll win this one is if Don becomes manager of the Mets for the last inning

  9. Get ISAN the fuck off this team!!!

  10. I'm usually very cautious when it comes to trading from the farm system... but more and more I feel like it's gonna be the Loria regime all over again and we are gonna trade our top prospects for Brinson-type players

  13. If we hold on (big if) then the Marlins will have been 8-7 at some point (above .500, yay?) in the season and tied for 1st place on April 29th.

  15. Bryan De La Cruz got his first big league hit today!* If Alex Jackson gets a hit, he will get his first hit of the season for the Marlins and the 2nd hit of the season the very next day against the Marlins. *Sort of. Suspended games are weird, y'all.

  16. BA has had 1 down year in his career. He is just as likely to rebound offensively as Kyle Seager was after 2018. If it wasn't for the albatross contract, more people would recognize that Seager has been a quality bat the past couple of seasons. Besides, when improving the offense you need to replace the worst spots first, C and OF. Adding 3B to the mix positions needing replacement is insane. If you add a 3B, you move BA to RF. But besides one of the top tier guys (Bryant / Arenado) which are longshots, I say we should stick with BA at 3B.

  17. Alfaro is playing better recently but I don't think he's done enough to justify finding a spot for. We can and should do better.

  18. Why do people think third base is so easy to just start playing? Lol. I remember people suggesting Ozuna play third on here for a couple years when we still had Marisnick. Alfaro has the best arm on the team, obviously, because he's been trained as a catcher. But is Anderson's that far behind? I don't think so. We've seen him in right field. He can sling it. Now how about reactions? That's more important than straight up athleticism. Reactions and range don't come quick. Anderson should have a much higher chance of sticking around than Alfaro at this point. Whether he should be extended is a different matter entirely, but Alfaro needs to be higher on the list to be shipped out.

  19. I think I'd be fine having Alfaro as the backup catcher. If he's playing once a week rather than 4 to 7 times a week, he might be more bearable.

  20. Maybe give them one more off-season …

  21. The Jackson hit by pitch, while not as blatant as Conforto's, should have been called back. He made very little effort to get out of the way.
