  1. One of the things I liek bout Choi is that he is a very patient hitter and makes the pitcher work a lot more than D Lee did. Choi has had some excellent at bats so far this season. I just hope he can keep this up in the long run
  2. elbow problems arent good :thumbdown :thumbdown
  3. Two out of every 3 is all the marlins need
  4. can anyone actually say something bad about Redmond? I think we should all get together and have the RED TEAL CLUB ... in honor of Red Andy Fox ran the bases quick than him on a regular homerun than Redmond ran an inside the park home run. lol But I agree this guy is well liked by the players, and he really is not that bad either. We were spoiled by a big name like pudge.
  5. Definitely good to see. Need to keep it up though
  6. We have to remember that AJ will be coing back in probably June-July so that means either he or Oliver or Dontrelle will move to the bullpen. That could be that little extra help that the bullpen is going to need. But if one starter struggles and goes out by the fourth. I see the marlins having a very difficult time winning because unless Tejera remembers how to pitch could be in trouble.
  7. I read an article how the rings were supposed to 'motivate' the phils and they were going to dominate the game. It was an entertaining read....SWEEEEP
  8. Not too bad. Definitely a huge improvement over last year though so I am all for it.
  9. The Good: Benitez- nice 1-2-3 inning DTrizzle- wicked awesome Lowell- 2 extra base hits including a jimmy jack Redmond-2 for 4 The Bad: Sea Bass Choi nice win boys Sea Bass looked terrible in a few at bats. I was really impressed with how Redmond hit and handled Dontrelle. Good game overall. Looking forward to this series with the Phils
  10. Wow, u guys are sad. The "Mermaids" probably don't even know a thing about baseball, they're a bunch of groupies. we know
  11. If the marlins don't get a stadium they might not be spending much of anything next year. If not decreasing the payroll slightly
  12. 7-3 Expos The Expos!?!?!?! I know we cant win them all, but Im still going to predict the marlins to win every game lol...But I am feeling a big offensive explosion for the Marlins tonight.
  13. Yeah no MLBTV tonight again!...I paid money to see these games and I can't even see them :banghead :banghead :banghead
  14. I think marlins are due for a break out performance. With the exception of a few...most of the marlins are hitting the ball very well right now, just in bad places. I can see marlins scoring upwards or 7+ runs tonight. Dontrelle on other hand. I still don't know. I'm hopin he goes 6. He needs to control himself or he will give up quick runs like Penny did last night
  15. It happens...I mean this happened in like 75% of the losses it seems like last year. Need JP and Castillo to start gettin on more for those middle guys to knock in runs. STEAL BASES too.
  16. Turner field sucks, but anyways you can't expect to win the fans over night. They will come if they keep this franchise dedicated. And like everyone has said 18,000 is a hell of a lot better than 10,000
  17. Gameday Audio working for you guys? if anyone is using it
  18. Isnt the second game of the season usually blacked out anyway It's not blacked out. It is not being televised by anyone. Blackouts only happen in football. MLB doesn't blackout games based on attendance. FSN has 95 games, PAX has 55, FOX has 2 and ESPN has 1 so far. Guys, you can deal with the radio for 12 games a year...I depend on it for almost 50 games. I depends on it for about 100-110 games a year. Got MLB.TV for first two months tho, but then I go back to 56K so its radio for me Why don't you order MLB Extra Innings, it's worth it. I meant it's $139 for the season but I get to watch all the Marlins games and any other game I want also. =) I don't have direct tv

  20. Someone said this on the radio. Raise taxes on alcohol & liquor - thats how Cleveland rasied money for the ballpark and finished paying it off in a couple of years add tobacco product while you are at it. . . Mckeon would vote against this
  21. I don't get why they get some corporate sponsors to help them out. I read an article where the Giants got $50 million for naming rights of the stadium. Concessions rights for $44 million and a charter-seat for $40 million I think. Is this possible, and if so why haven't the marlins attempted this?
  22. This just in: David Samson is not very tall. You'd think the articulate former Expos president would have come up with a brilliant comeback to that one by now, given how old that story is. But the Marlins president opened his mouth, and the usual tripe came gushing out. So while the Marlins and Expos, linked as they are by mutual losing seasons, common coaches, and common players, got along just fine, the so-called rivalry between the two teams was being stoked by Samson, abetted by Robinson, and even responded to by Expos president Tony Tavares yesterday. "It is the height of unprofessionalism. It is the exact example of how baseball should not be played," Samson whined about the two times Expos prospect Josh Karp unintentionally hit Marlins third-baseman Mike Lowell during an exhibition game last week. Admittedly, the big edge went to the Expos over the Marlins in the hit-by-pitch department last season, 12-4, with the most memorable the errant Hector Almonte fastball that broke Lowell's hand Aug. 31. But from an erratic Almonte, to a nervous Karp, to this? "What the Expos have done consistently over the past year and a half is throw at our guys," Samson drawled. "We have made the league aware and the Expos are on notice that we will not accept that anymore." At least he didn't say the Expos are on a short leash. When a reporter left that door wide open Monday, Robinson walked right through it. "Has (Samson) ever played baseball?" the manager asked. The answer: "Have you ever seen him? What do you think?" "Wait a minute, now," Robinson said. "Bill Veeck had a guy like that." Veeck was the man who brought Eddie Gaedel to the St. Louis Browns in 1951 for a publicity stunt. Robinson didn't say Samson was short; he implied he was a midget. "To the extent that Frank, on the record, would choose to comment on my height - I find that to be unfortunate in the first instance and rather pathetic in the last," Samson trilled. A better riposte, of course, would have been this: "I'm flattered a two-league MVP, first-ballot Hall of Famer, a true legend like Frank Robinson, actually knows who I am well enough to look down on me." Or this, with all credit due to Patrick Roy: "I didn't hear him. Jeffrey and I's World Series rings are blocking my ears." Instead, this: "If I were an umpire, I would absolutely warn the Expos immediately. There's no reason to warn us. We never hit anybody. ... This is some sort of one-man head-hunt. Everything starts at the top." That last statement probably provoked Tavares to respond. "Mr. Samson's initial comments regarding this situation are at best an emotional and reckless response. His most recent comments, at their worst, can be viewed as threatening and inflammatory," the Expos president said in a statement, adding that Robinson, who had been hit 198 times during his playing career, has never ordered one of his pitchers to hit a player, something Robinson himself has stressed. "While Mr. Samson's comments might serve some purpose off the field of play, they serve no useful purpose on the field of play. ... I suggest we move on and simply play baseball," Tavares said. "I'm not surprised by it. I'm not bothered by it. I'm not going to spend a lot of time commenting on it," Robinson said. "If (Samson) needs an apology, he'll be waiting a long time. He's going to try to tell me how to run my ball club? Let him take care of business with the Marlins." You would think Samson would have bigger fish to fry than this lame attempt at standing tall for his players, like, perhaps, trying to get that elusive new stadium built, or even showing off his museum-piece ring. The tape of the spring-training game Samson overnighted to the league offices has drawn no response a week later. Yesterday's game was not played under umpire's warning, as Marlins' manager Jack McKeon expected. The players don't need Samson's meddling. They can handle it themselves inside the lines - a place Samson is familiar with only to the extent that he embarrassed himself on the hallowed grounds of Yankee Stadium, after the Marlins' win last October. That he thinks it's all about him only served to divert some of the focus away from the big event yesterday, Opening Day for the world champions before a huge crowd that won' t be back tonight for Game 2 - even if Samson overnights the videotape to the league offices. I can't believe that was printed esepecially the last few lines. Does the writer not realize that the Expos get LESS people than the marlins do. i Agree to a point, but insulting the man's height. Come on now. Are we in 1st grade here?
  23. Why the heck were the Mermaids wearing Dolphins orange yesterday? You would think they'd be wearing teal or something Marlins appropriate. Maybe Berardino should look into this, or perhaps Admin should investigate those outfits up close and personal ! Loria rented the Unis out from Hiezienga. Prob in the lease somewhere.
