  1. I have considered making my own topic. Then posting in it every couple of days, but locking it so no one else could. What is your thoughts on this @SilverBullet?
  2. It would make it a giant greenhouse. It would be insanely hot.
  3. I call it who gives a shit... And I don't so much mind the Braves (I rooted for the Braves before the Marlins existed), but Georgia sports fans are the absolute worst. Falcons & UGA are awful.
  4. It's a brilliant F-you to Loria. I'm getting sick of waiting, but they're really doing a great job of building anticipation. I've even noticed more people seem to be engaging the Marlins on social media - a lot of them are bitching, but they're engaging nonetheless. That says that people are at least paying attention - that's half the battle.
  5. Why do you think they're making the catchphrases bilingual, not just spanish?
  6. I actually think that's a great idea if it's done right. Atlanta has had graphics on their wall for as long as I can remember, and it's always been tasteful.
  7. Really? I liked the Citi Field look, aside from there being Mets shit everywhere.
  8. Fair enough! I think we're on the same page.
  9. Black with a teal hr line would look sharp.
  10. Oh, great. I can finally go to sleep, now that I know what Marlin Man thinks about it. He needs to go play in traffic.
  11. SHOW US THE DAMN LOGO & UNI'S!
  12. It's important to remember that we are in "silly season" now too. There's going to be a lot of things said to manipulate trade values and contract numbers from now through the winter meetings. Everything that is said needs to be taken with a grain of salt - it won't be, but it should.
  13. This was my first thought too. There's a difference between being a supporter, and saying what you need to say for the wellbeing of your family. Who knows what the case is here, but I wouldn't read too much into it at the moment. A publicist should be able to handle this without much issue, and if certain reporters try to lay traps, they need to lose access/credentials to the Marlins organization.
  14. Yeah, I think that theory will be shot with these uni's. I'm reserving judgement until we get to see more than just a leaked logo, but if it's even close to the final, there nothing traditional or remotely Yankee-esque about it.
  15. If I had a dollar for everytime that's been mentioned & not mattered regarding free agents for Dolphins & Marlins.... I think the last one was Peyton Manning, before he signed w/ Denver, right?
  16. Without reading through 59 pages, I saw the logo renderings - is the script leaked as well, or are they mock-ups done by people here on MB?
  17. I love how everyone somehow finds something to bitch about. EVERYBODY hated the sculpture, but because Jeter is the one spearheading the removal, it's a horrible idea. I don't recall a single positive statement about the sculpture here, or anywhere else, by anybody not named Grooms or Loria.
  18. Sometimes pitchers and catchers fall in love....
  19. Totally agree. I believe they are treated much better. They do better than your average American - as far as income goes, and they get a share of bonuses, incentives, and if they're lucky even a ring.
  20. I think it varies, but I've always been under the impression that they get paid like a lower level coach - like 50k - 100k, depending on the organization. They also receive a ton of incentives - bonuses, travel pay, and any other club incentives. I knew a "ball boy", that would sit down the outfield line and warm up the outfielder between innings. It was a minimum wage job, but he used to get tipped anywhere from a couple hundred, to even a thousand dollars + for a three game series. It would all depend on who the visiting team's outfielder was. Most of the ballplayers are pretty generous - if you help them, or contribute to their performance, they're going to reward you pretty well.
  21. Maybe we should look at Fangraphs, and just skip the seasons altogether.
  22. Usually, how well you swing your lumber determines how often you score.
  23. You are right. I'm more so speaking to the all of the sudden obsession with that stat. We are constantly hearing them speak of a outs with high exit velocity, and foul balls that are 100+. In regards to that, and out is an out, and a foul is a foul. Who cares how fast they came off the bat. If you hit the ball with great exit velocity, but you're a straight pull hitter, they're going to put a shift on, killing your average. I think it can be a useful stat, coupled with others. As a standalone stat, I don't feel it's very useful.
