This is something that doing this kind of strategy doesn't make sense on the Marlins side. You're taking a chance that by taking less talented people who save you a few bucks now, you are taking also A HUGE RISK that you literally have nothing left in a few years if they don't pan out. This could mean you will have to pay a lot of money, most likely in free-agency, to even put a team on the field that could be just mediocre because your overall talent level is so low. So Loria is saving a few million now and going to possibly pay A LOT in a few years. Seems to me to be a risk that doesn't favor Loria, and a very risky game to play.
  2. Perfect post for this inane thread.

If you never win, you never give people the incentive to go. It's not the fanbases fault that the Marlins have the longest streak of not making the playoffs in the NL, and maybe in both leagues.
  5. Pathetic, and only 2 on this team.
  6. Wow just 3 of them left in the organization. Pitiful
  7. This front office has a history of duds in the high rounds. I don't have numbers, but other teams can't be as bad as they have been. Sure they took Stanton, but they have, what seems is extraordinary bad luck in the 1st round. Skipworth, Dominguez, Hermida.....etc. Yes I know a lot of them were Beinfest picks, but haven't Hill & Jennings been in the FO since Loria got here ?
  8. It's never boring being a fan of this team....they don't win a lot, but never boring.
  9. well you and I will have to agree to disagree on that one. My confidence in this ownership is just about at an all-time low.
  10. True, but Marlins history over the last 12 years leads one to not feel its too much of a reach. Tell me Admin would you REALLY be surprised if that happened ?
  11. It's obvious to those watching, this team has simply given up. That is why there is no fire, they lack leadership too. I'm just afraid this season will make Loria go back into his "penny pinching" ways, and looking for a way to unload Stanton and "restart" all over again. I know Stanton's contract doesn't look like it will allow that, but I wonder if he doesn't go to Stanton and ask him if he wants to be traded. Stanton is probably in a mood to at least chat about it.
  12. I understand that would happen, but that mostly punishes the fans of South Fla more than Loria. If Loria did that, would it be enough for Manfred to start MLB in motion to try and coerce Loria to sell ?
  13. Well unfortunately he's the permanent shitstain that doesn't get cleaned out. That is our only hope
  14. He wasn't there when Red was hired either........but front and center with Ozzie.
  15. No he was just sitting next to Samson....
  16. I still don't see how this changes the fact our bullpen is a mess and our hitting is not clutch
  17. Results driven business Samson ? Really then why didn't you fire yourself ? Since 2003 what says you should still be around ?
  18. Hill says, "well we have the right man, and think this is the right man for the job", then why did they hire Redmond in the 1st place ? Not cutting it with me.....
  19. Loria says he's about winning, but sometimes you really have to wonder....
  20. Why is it they can never get a mic that will pick up the media questions ?
  21. hmmmmm interesting that Loria was gonna do it a month ago.......now if Jennings doesn't win, is he out too ?
  22. This could actually be what is going on.....no joke. Loria might have told him that. It would be Loria's style.
