I know Bauer hasn't pitched in a minute but man. Some team is gonna get a killer deal on his services this year. As a human he's a POS but dude can game. Aroldis at 10 mil makes me want to puke but if it's a one year deal then whatever.

This guy choked his girlfriend and shot 8 bullets a wall because he was mad. He deserves nothing.

  2. I'm curious about how long term protection of assets is factored into these decisions.

It is going to be really frustrating when all this pitching loses value because they are pitching against a gauntlet no matter who they face in the east...well except Washington. But even in these series the pitching has to be perfect because they are with defensively weak lineup with players out of position...

    Christ....they don't have a centerfielder...this is mindboggling.

It isn't like these magical trades are coming...Teams are just waiting the Fish out.

    ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!!!!!!

Correa is now signing with the Mets 12/315 Million per MLBtraderumors.com

    Just fucking unbelievable!

They are better off punting the season and selling whatever they can at the deadline.

Ng knew all along...playing chess. #genius

It is interesting to see the Marlins chase Turner after his comments last offseason

Its embarrassing that they have to sign him for any hope to save face...more embarrassing if he accepts the offer.

Marlins always find new and creative ways to become the joke.

Mets are going for the 400 million payroll, while the fish try to stay under 100

Does every division have one Marlins? I wouldn't call it collusion but maybe bargaining...

Us in the NL east...Tampa in the AL east....the Pirates...who else?

Teams bit and small are spending money.

Marlins are just flat out CHEAP.

    Bruce Sherman is CHEAP.

Why the media isnt yelling this to the mountains and putting the onus on management to actually you know...

Oh wait, because the local media is fucking useless in Miami.

Mish would rather be buddy/buddy with the front office than be a heavy hitter. De Nicola works for MLB.com so ya, that wont happen.  But the local rags....

DO SOMETHING wtih the massive profits they make?

There is NOTHING that is preventing ANY TEAM from spending money on players this winter.  The ONLY thing preventing money being spent on players are skinflint owners who do not want to spend.

    FACTS.

I feel like Mish is somewhat open about the cheapness and poor choices the ownership makes. I think his proximity becomes an issue when he incorrectly reported moves in the past...that has pretty much stopped...
Eh. It is all just disappointing, which is funny because I, like many of you, never thought it would turn out any other way...how can one be disappointed if one knew what was going to happen?

Is it better or worse that this isn't the same rebuild but like the 3rd one since then?

The next rebuild is the one that will take -- for sure.

Imagine the busts we get for Jazz when Alcantara's arm falls off.

I also just hate blind negativity that doesn't actually make sense. They don't want to win, they enjoy losing, they don't even try, they don't care, they don't actually make offers, etc etc. Silly.

It's why I use the word incompetence so much.

These idiots just aren't good at their job but it's not from not trying.

They are making money. It's not incompetence any more than it's not caring...they want to transfer your wealth into their wealth as quickly and cheaply as possible.

The real sick thing is there is no way to make THEM feel it...it will only always be the fans. They aren't really creating any product and therefore there is no way to reject a product. Even if every fan stopped watching, which is impossible, they make money off the visiting team, plus they could sell the team, or move it and drain another fanbase before selling, and still make money.

The other owners must be ok with this...a team to help pad stats and drive revenue...the union likes it because they give aging washed up players a landing spot and the "interest" helps to drive contracts.

Finally, some clarity:  "I guess what I would say is that we're looking to improve the offense, and that position can be almost anywhere on the field," Ng said. "I think right now the way our team looks, we have ways to pivot, whoever that person is, to pivot them elsewhere or pivot them in areas that maybe they hadn't thought of yet."

    Completely unlikable human.

    Yikes.

It's almost like the union and owners worked something out with the Sherman and Ng.

They let him use the team to make money as long as they stay a bottom feeder and help the real teams pad their stats. Meanwhile, the union doesn't put up a fuss because every offseason the Marlins overpay for a 220 hitter (no way JT comes here from the Dodgers at age 40 to bat 270-250) helping to drive the market and thinning the herd of available free agents.

  11. Burdick, Bleday, and Diaz are at least fun to watch...that being said...

I can't believe we waited all season for a semblance of a team.

It would be so Marlins that this team goes on a run just to miss the lottery and still end 10 games out of a wild card and tread water some more.
