Do the stats for this game count? Did Luzardo just get screwed out of all those K's?

I'm pretty sure the stats won't count if this game ends up being a non-factor in the playoff race.

As @FishFan95 said, the only way this game would be made up is if it ends up being the difference in determining playoff seeding.

I dunno if any of you gents have tried it but fried eggs over white rice is a wonderful breakfast

edit: I'd imagine poached eggs would work very well here too but they're more of a pain to make

My friend is Colombian and he raves about eggs and rice. He'll usually include beans also. Not sure if he has it for breakfast, though.

It’s a 3 game series. If Braxton doesn’t need pitch Sunday could have Braxton Tuesday and lizard Wednesday. I like our chances

Won't matter much if they can't score any runs. Not having Arraez is going to suck.

  4. So I saw the milk with meat thread and figured I would start a more general topic: what are some weird or unorthodox food combinations that you enjoy?

For me, I love chocolate milk and pizza. Stems from elementary school when Friday would be pizza day in the cafeteria and we would all get a small carton of chocolate milk with it. Still love the combo to this day.

We're held together by duct tape and paper clips and would get killed in any playoff series but who cares. Just be good for a few more days and we're in.

Which is a real shame because I honestly believe that this team could have done some damage in the playoffs if healthy. Not saying they would have won the WS or anything, but I definitely think they could have won at least one series.

A double header is way harder on the team than having to play two games in two nights. Itll be much harder to sweep tomorrow than to have won on Tuesday night then on Wednesday night so the double header greatly affects our chance of winning both games, especially against a Mets team that gives us trouble. Our bullpen and pitching staff is already weakened. And Braxton Garrett pitching today, Tuesday, would have set him up to pitch again on Sunday if it was a must win game. That may now be out of the question or it would be a short rest start.

Considering this turn of events came from human incompetence by a bullshit organic and NOT from actual weather, there's plenty of reasons to be bothered by this one.

I mean I get it, but it seems like people are turning this into an obituary for the Marlins. They could easily (and should) beat the Mets in both games tomorrow. The Marlins are the better team. They are the desperate team. If they can't beat the Mets, they don't deserve to be in the playoffs to begin with.

And as @mystikol87 just said, on the bright side, it gives Arraez and Burger another day of rest.

Atleast let us lose fair and square. This is infuriating. Now we get a doubleheader which screws up the rotation the rest of the way.. also without our dumbass closer who goes on paternity leave with 6 games left! Unreal

Who said we are going to lose? The Marlins could very well just sweep this doubleheader tomorrow, and our rotation was completely screwed up anyway lol.

As for Scott, I'm not going to fault him for spending time with his newborn baby. That's what good parents do. Family before sports.

Also, the Cubs lost, meaning we gained ground tonight without even having to play.

Not sure why everyone here is so worked up. The Marlins just need to take care of business against an inferior team tomorrow and then they control their own destiny the rest of the way.

Yea but this idea of the Marlins having to sweep assumes the Cubs and DBacks are gonna win all their games too. If any of those teams scuffle the Marlins can get in with less than having to sweep.

No it doesn't. If the Cubs win two out of three, the Marlins would still have to sweep to pass them. The D'Backs are two games up on the Marlins and they are about to play the crappy White Sox.

I'm only talking about this next series of course, but there are only two series left. I am really getting the feeling the Marlins are going to have to do no worse than 5-1 to get in.

Braves have little to play for since it is unlikely LA catches them for best NL record. Wonder how hard they even try.

They probably don't want to get stale going into the playoffs so I'm sure they'll at least try. But it's human nature to coast in situations like that and it seems like that's what they've been doing lately so who knows. Hopefully they can take two. Not counting on it, though. Marlins may very well have to sweep here.

If the DBacks lose tomorrow things get really interesting going into Tuesday. Cubs and DBacks would have identical records, Marlins would be behind 1 game of both. Cubs will be playing the Braves, Dbacks vs White Sox.

Braves haven't been playing their best ball lately. Hopefully they are able to take two of three from the Cubs to take some of the pressure off the Marlins. It would really suck having to sweep this next series but it feels like that's what is probably gonna have to happen. Not sure we can exactly depend on the White Sox, either.

Not taking at least one against the Brewers the first time around and losing the Mets series really, really stings right now.

I have a really bad feeling about next year's starting staff.  We already know Sandy will be gone. I have a feeling Eury and Lizard might have some....issues as well.

Starting to feel like they need to seriously look hard at 2 GOOD starters in their offseason plans if they want to actually contend next year.  I know all y'all are eager to get to the postseason but man this staff is absolutely toast (aside from Big Dick Garrett) and I would literally bet everything I own that they would not win the WS this year with as shit as our remaining pitching is.

Yeah don't get me wrong: I want to make the playoffs as much as the next guy, but what we are we really left with here in the rotation? Just Garrett and Luzardo? And Luzardo hasn't exactly been a model of consistency in the second half. Plus Arraez is banged up.

We really gotta sweep Brewers. And win against those bottom vampire sucking spoilers known as Mets and Pirates.

And if I were a heel wrestler? Both cities smell like a dump.

I'm not sure they have to sweep the Brewers. I think they can afford to take two out of three here so long as they take care of business against the Mets and Pirates. Probably have to sweep at least one of the three remaining series, though.
