  1. It’s a forgone conclusion at this point. I look at it this way. If it can’t get any worse, but maybe it can get little better.
  2. Nothing we can do about it man. This is a business. Maybe we can trade him for Tatis. I heard he’s much cheaper actually. Not a MOTY move. Thanks Mattingly!!
  3. His brand will make up for it. He will be one of the most polarizing athletes in sports. Just wait.
  4. We are also seeing a different draft approach by selecting college prospects vs HS prospects, at least in the first round. Imagine if Meyer and Bleedey had another 2-3 yrs through the ranks before being called up. We can see the difference already by how we are rapidly building the team. Not only that, but the time invested in HS prospects if they were to bust, would be twice the loss. Between 2014-2017 with Ozuna, Yelich & Stanton, being the big three, we had a stagnant 70 win seasons with no depth. We also ranked near the last in the farm system. This was a direct effect from drafting primary HS’ers in the first round so they didn’t have to spend
  5. We need a lot of solid depth in the pen for the first month or so until the starting pitchers have worked up some innings. We will probably entertain the 6th man rotation with Neidert/Garrett or when Cabrera is ready. I definitely think a 6 man rotation is the way to go.
  6. I remember another crazy stat with Sixto having the least hard hit rate of our rotation, but his strike out rate was not as high. When he increases his strike out rate he’s going to be the ace in 2022 or 2023.
  7. We may not have the biggest knife in the tool shed, but, it’s sharp and ready to slice.
  8. This wouldn’t even happen if we had to play 162 games strictly in our own division. The NLC & NLW isnt even that formidable except for LA and the Padres. Fangraphs seems like they are pushing for a new sports culture by intently dumbing down fans, mainly the younger audiences.
  9. That’s a good LINE. Coca-Cola
  10. Could be “The Choice Of A New Generation.”
  11. https://www.mlb.com/news/marlins-could-have-elite-rotation-2021
  12. Just watching mlb game day in 2019, if I remember, it seemed like his strikeouts were CALLED STRIKES on FULL COUNTS which goes against your idea that he doesn’t recognize the zone and has poor contact. His issues are a symptom of being to passive, aka 2020 Yelich. If I remember 2019 Isan had impressively high pitch counts. He’s super patient with great eyes and zone awareness.
  13. We won’t lose 90 games. Our pitching staff could be top 5 in the league. The defense is borderline elite or very good especially if Brinson or Harrison have a nice breakout. This team is built ideally for a 162 game season. We could also have the most roster depth. We should place 2nd or 3rd. I see the Nats & Phillies fighting for last. Braves should finish 2nd. But after Fried & Anderson it’s meh and their bullpen was amazing last year. They are very vulnerable if they have injuries. Let’s hope the Mets struggle early and the media pressure becomes to much. We gotta believe if they are .500 or below with 20 gms in the media and fan base will implode.
  14. Unless they want to trade Cooper to the Dodgers. To do this wouldn’t they have to acquire another OF? This was my first reaction when the rumors for Santander resurfaced.
  15. The Santander rumors is a bit worrisome. Please let it not be because of Coop.
  16. When I say aggressive, I don’t mean wildly aggressive, chasing pitches. He’s a little to patient at the plate, like Yelich was before he was traded. Isan does a good job to getting the count full but he doesn’t have the right mind set in favorable slugging counts. I think that is his problem right now.
  17. This isn’t going to be received well around these parts. Lot folks take a liking to Diaz. We have a lot invested in Isan, now would be a bad time to move him. It would be catastrophic if he became a stud right after he was traded. He hasn’t even played a full year in the majors. He needs to show much more improvement though. I think he needs to be more aggressive at the plate. He does a good job loading up the count but he has had tough breaks in slugging situations from what I remember just watching game day.
  18. This allows us to experiment. If Kintzler signed and struggled it would have been more difficult to make faster transition, plus the verbal agreement as him closing could prolong the problem.
  19. It was backloaded for Duvall for insurance reasons if he has a high demand at the trade deadline. It wasn’t about the money. Not sure this relates but Cooper is under control for 3 years. So money is not an issue if he is traded. That is why he is getting so much attention right now.
  20. I would take my chances and wait to trade Cooper and try to win now. From previous trades, Im seeing teams eat right away while we are still prepping our prospects. It has stunted our rebuilding process even though the direction has been to get better. Of course I’m open to any improvement but I want returns that will help right away. No trading high level ready to play players for future prospects . Prospects for prospects is fine in the same circumstances IMO
  21. Yep. Let him go somewhere else for his sake. hopefully he find some success. Don’t keep him in our system and put him through that.
