hurricane dean and how it could possibly cause the crash of the world economy? LOL
  2. Isn't the recipricol of that argument that if we import products from countries that use slave labor, prices would be even lower? I think politicians from the same made that argument in the mid 19th century. I'm not saying it's right. But it's true. Same goes with using illegal immigrants to pick tomatoes. Is it right to give tomato pickers fair wages and benefits? Sure it is. But it would raise tomato prices.
  3. I am planning on using the free ticket and buy one get one free vouchers on this game, and I want to get rid of w/e I have left...if anyone wants em claim them here. Not 100% that I'll go to this game but I'll update tonight.
  4. The point is: The whole reason we import so much from China is b/c the cost of labor is so low because of bad quality control and bad workers benefits. If their factories were to implement the standards that we have in US factories there would be no incentive to have things made in China, companies would not save any money on labor, and prices will go up.
  5. Bradcore you silly goose...come sit on my lap. I have a case of Old Milwuakee's.

  9. La Fiorentina... Launched Roberto Baggio, was home of one of Italy's all time greats in Antognoni, and most recently barely missed qualifying for Champions League after starting with -19 points. Plus, we let the up and coming young stars play instead of investing millions in proved foreigners.
  10. Just drank rum with a male friend and we made out. Nothing too interesting... but I did throw up. Yuck. Did you make out AFTER you threw up?
  11. Hope you had a good one.
  12. So, I've got a pretty good buzz goin' on right now, so if you guys want me to do something, well, nows prime opportunity for you. get naked and write "jetsmania, is this gay?" on your ass with red lipstick. I second this.
  13. I hope none. Insurance is insane and as it starts dropping finally this year i'd like for it to stay low. So I hope no storms for a while please. (Maybe a Tropical storm with good surf but that's it). Weeeee I want to miss school. My roof was blown off, and my insurance company dropped me...but at least I missed 5 days of school. :|
  14. I don't think that corn-based ethanol is efficient enough to become a viable alternative to fossil fuels. We would be better off importing sugar-cane based ethanol from Brazil, where they have a surplus. Unfortunately there are not a whole not of efficient alternatives right now as far as technology to improve on fossil fuels in cars. Ethanol is the best option, but it has a lot of drawbacks. And you know this because of your expertise in mechanical engineering and your knowledge of all the latest technologies, right?
  15. I was in Orlando for a rugby tournament, and as is rugby tradition we have a social after all the games are done. Home team hosts all the visiting team (meaning they buy the keg or in this case kegs). Most teams didn't stick around so when we get there its FIU and UCF women and a few scattered souls. So as good guests we start takin pitcher after pitcher and stackin them at our table before we could even finish them. At one point it was me and our captain sitting at the table with 6 full pitchers getting to work. The drinking games vary from quarters to 'buffalo rules' to dropping the golf ball in peoples drinks (meaning you have to down in one). Needless to say I am wasted, and the only girls there are these infamous UCF girls. I call them 'Paul Bunyan bitches'. Most of them are lesbian. So we are mingling hanging out at the bar drunk off our asses. At one point one of these huge lesbians picks up my friend (he's a built guy mind you) right off the ground like a baby and takes him away to the bathroom area. It was the funniest thing. In the meantime I'm being obnoxious as hell to the lesbians, one of them gets super pissed off for some reason so we take it outside. The funniest part is that outside was a golf course, so I am wrestling in the sand trap with this butch lesbian for a good ten minutes. It took me a couple days to get the sand out of my hair after that (I had long hair at the time).
  16. Most of all, remember that there's not a statistic out there that will tell you who the best pitcher/batter is. False. WARP3 is a great "catch-all" tool that can tell you have many wins above a AAA player a player has been worth in any given year. Win Shares is another one. Good old OPS+ can do a pretty good job of telling you who the best hitter is. If a pitcher has a low era and a high WHIP that doesn't mean he's not having a good year, it just means that he's due to see his ERA rise. To measure offense you may want to stick to OBP, SLG, RISP OBP, RISP SLG and then throw in a touch of games played and / or PAs to take durability into account. You don't need to go into these ridiculous stats with really cool names that don't really measure what the really cool names say they do. Look past the really cool names and look at the damn formulas. Two of the stats you mentioned don't matter because they are based on really small sample sizes that are subject to fluctuation year to year. WARP3 takes into account everything a player does on offense (Singles, Doubles, Triples, Homers, Sac flies, Double plays, stolen bases, caught stealing, etc.) and defense, and then calculates each part's value based on how many runs each one gives you. It is then converted into a format that gives you a pretty good indicator of how many wins above a AAA replacement player (Todd Linden) a given player is worth. How does this not measure what it says it measures? Did you even look up WARP3 before posting that response? Everyday players get around 200 RISP PAs per season so I have no idea how you just blow off a player's production with RISP due to a small sample size or because of yearly fluctuations. The 200 PAs does not constitute a small sample size and the yearly fluctuations occur because these guys are not robots and because of it their yearly production will vary (and not because of luck, as you claim). Regarding WARP3, you ought to know that just because the name in a formula says the formula is called "Wins Above Replacement Player" it doesn't mean that's what the formula measures. Go get the formula and prove it. Really I'm just curious about this damned WARP3 formula now, and too lazy here at work to look it up. BOBBOB?!?

    The 'V'

Okay, so I once had a nicely defined 'V', but I've since let myself go and developed a bit of a gut. Any tips on what kind of exercises I can do at home to regain some definition? Eat healthy and have a balanced nutrition. Once you can maintain that run, run, run. Start small the first 1-2 weeks, and then build up. I prefer Interval running, instead of a steady jog(burns more in less time). Do you have a home gym or just a flat bench? Any free weights? If not do basics.. 50 pushups everyday(doesn't have to be in a row) and not a girly speed push up. 5 sec down, and 5 sec back up. Throw in some situps after your run and buy a pull up bar at walmart(12 bucks). Drink alot of water. If you drink Beer make it lite, and stop doing it everyday BEst advice I can give you without going to a gym. Thx, though I was lookin for more ab specific excercises. I have been running 1.5 miles a day, and I drink about 1 and half gallons of water a day. I def. need to get in on the pushups...I have one 20 lb dumbell but I rarely use it. Should I invest in a medicine ball? I have no space for any machinery in my house.
