  1. It’s funny how some of love to talk like you know so much but then when someone actually has a resume and tells you that you don’t have a clue about what you’re talking about your so soft and go “oh you did this” and try to act as if your unknowledgeable opinion is correct.

Wanna know how easy 3rd is? Multiple Cardinals have gone on record that Yadi is one of the smoothest dudes they seen at 3rd and he can’t even fucking move with 2 bad hips lol.

How about we just sign guys or acquire guys to improve the lineup without moving players to random positions and inevitably making our defense shit?

I mean how many utility guys are going to hit 246? That’s what Alfaro is doing right now. If he’s going to do that then there’s going to be a spot for him on any team. Might as well give him work at 3rd during the spring and evaluate from there. He’s already a better athlete than BA(and you’re high if you don’t think so) plus he has more pop and a bigger arm.

Yep though it felt like I was being attacked when I would defend him here

Lefties struggle with accuracy naturally because they have more of a whip action to their motion. They take a bit of work to reign in. If he need to be wearing eyewear though then he should’ve had them day 1. Can’t hit what you can’t see…or throw to. Whatever saying fits there.

Why do people think third base is so easy to just start playing? Lol. I remember people suggesting Ozuna play third on here for a couple years when we still had Marisnick.

Alfaro has the best arm on the team, obviously, because he's been trained as a catcher. But is Anderson's that far behind? I don't think so. We've seen him in right field. He can sling it.

Now how about reactions? That's more important than straight up athleticism. Reactions and range don't come quick.

Anderson should have a much higher chance of sticking around than Alfaro at this point. Whether he should be extended is a different matter entirely, but Alfaro needs to be higher on the list to be shipped out.

Because I played 3rd while being a catcher. It’s easy…as shit. Especially being a catcher. That’s what happens when you actually play baseball past little league. I played both for North Florida. Every day I played third I hit better. Less to worry about. The only position that’s easier is 1st.

    Lizards isn't a bust , there I said it

Never was lol. Anybody who thought while actually seeing how good his stuff really shouldn’t be commenting. He still has mechanical work that needs to be done but that dude has some sick movement.

  6. Play him at 3rd. He’s a completely different hitter outside of being behind the plate. He offers more power, more athleticism, and a bigger arm than BA. We need a replacement. Anybody thinking BA should be extended and is part of this teams future is insane. He’s such an overrated part of this team.

This. Everyone’s calling Bleday a sure thing and he can’t get above the Mendoza

He was a sure thing. WE fucked him. Just like we fucked Burdick who was also one of the best hitters in a that class filled with hitters.

Again, if you play in the SEC or ACC then your facing Single A/Double A comp almost every series. He raked. Now he can’t. It’s us, not them.

    Draft better hitters

We drafted really good hitters and ruined them by changing their approach. Bleday played at Vandy. He was facing High A/Double A comp every week in the SEC and he raked and hit everything. It didn’t matter if it was fastball or a breaking pitch. Goes to the Marlins and all of the sudden he “can’t” hit. Why? Because we tried changing something that isn’t broken. The prof that it’s development and not drafting better hitters is De La Cruz. He has a completely different approach than the whole time. Why? The Astros know wtf their doing. We don’t.

  9. You know what’s funny? You can literally see how flawed our hitting development with players on this team. Look how different De La Cruz approaches his ABs compared to the rest of them. He gets deep in counts, willing to take what’s given to him, and understand the “pass the baton” mentality while everybody else chases fastballs and and destroys their count leverage. It’s infuriating. You see the talent that guys like Jazz and LB have in spurts and then they go back to fastball hunting and fuck themselves. Who’s in the dugout encouraging that behavior? Mattingly. This hit tremendously better with Rowson but you could tell Rowson had no experience handling a staff. That’s why we lost with Rowson managing.

quite possible Alex Jackson is worse than Alfaro.   how is this possible.

You mean to tell me a guy that only had 3 hits for his career is worse than Alfaro? You don’t say…

  11. They’re trying to be the rays without using the rays philosophy when it comes to hitting. The rays scout, sign, and promote based on matchups and low to mid level K rates. Do you see that playing apart of our current lineup? No. They’re prioritize “athletes” but lack the coaching ability to develop them and the wherewithal to realize some of these prospects just needed reps(Bleday/Burdick) and didn’t need a change in approach. Then we wonder how a year into their development they can’t hit.

  12. The only guys in this pen that deserve a job on this team next year is Okert, Bendie, Bleier, and Floro. Other than that it needs to be overhauled. I’m going to make an outlook thread about what can we do now and how to change for the future so we can all discuss this.

What garbage dump did they find these RPs in

Well Maduro is actually a starting pitcher. guenther has actually been decent but Rowson left him in for 3 innings and he gave up a Grand Slam in Colorado hence the ERA. Guzman was part of the Stanton trade and considered a “big piece” and Campbell is rule 5.

They also want him working directly with Mel I’m sure.

he’s looking pretty bad though. He has no idea where the ball is going when it leaves his hand

Yea. He needs to chang his entire lower half. His stride was better to start the game hence why he stated better but once he started to get in trouble he went right back to that short stride shit and you saw the lack of control again.

  15. I already see the mechanical improvement with Luzardo this outing. He’s getting more extension on his play leg instead of being short like he used to. Sometimes guys lack control because they’re too inconsistent with their arm slots and getting more extension is a way to normalize an arm slot. You still see him short stride a little and you see a difference from when he is and when he’s not.
