Can you guys imagine how much faster this rebuild would go if Isan and Brinson figure things out?

Honestly, had the prospects in that trade lived up to their potential we’d have two 5-tool outfielders and a Javy Baez Lite. We would be a first place team no doubt!

Yeah I was watching that one on the split screen. Garret Richards sucks, can’t believe they went through the deadline without adding two real pitchers 😑

I have no idea why but something about Jackson reminds me of our old pal Alex Gonzalez. Can't put my finger on it but that's who I kept thinking of when I'd see him come up last night.

He reminds me of Henderson Alvarez too in a weird way.

Does it matter? We need to know if he can hit at the big league level.

Jorge Alfaro is a waste of time.

Yeah I think he’s (ironically) put such a focus on his defensive game that maybe being able to focus only on hitting may help him out.

    Would you guys rather have

    1. Alfaro in the OF?

    2. Isan at 3B and BA in RF? or

    3. Lewin at 1B, Aguilar at 3B, and BA in RF?

Whichever keeps Isan out of the lineup. The third one isn’t a terrible situation for a spot start but idk how I’d feel with Aggy at 3B full time.

Did the Tigers try using Urena as a bp arm this season or was he also used only in a starting role again?

Strictly as a starter so far and he’s done really poorly

I'm gun shy about this FO acquiring position players haha.

I know we got Jazz and Sanchez, but their track record otherwise isn't good lol.

I’d even go a step further and tell you even those two aren’t locks to be good trades.

Proposing Meyer for Marsh was idiotic enough , I hope she can realize she dodged a bullet

I feel at this point the most beneficial thing would be to re-sign Marte in the off-season. That way they can have their proverbial “cake” and eat it too since they would have both Luzardo AND Marte. He’s played here before and fits in tremendously with this group, just bring him back already. Use the prospects to fill other holes like second and Catcher.

I would try to trade a pair of unproven arms like Meyer and Eder for a proven, consistent major leaguer like Jose Urena.

This isn’t MLB the show. There’s no reason the Tigers make that trade

  10. One of Pablo or Meyer gets moved this off-season for sure.

With that said I really would prefer long term to move Sixto but this would be selling him at his all time low so it’s the wrong time. Sandy needs to get locked up on a contract and Trevor is here to stay. Cabrera will be up next year and step in as the #3 so I anticipate a staff of:

Cabrera (or Pablo if he stays and bump Cabrera and Luzardo down one)

Meyer (if he’s stays, otherwise one of Sixto or Eder if they don’t use Sixto out of the pen to ease him back)

As other have said though, I think a 6 man rotation is best I just highly doubt they go for that here.

  11. Some moron on twitter said that since Japan beat the US team, they should stop calling the domestic championship a “world” series.

Obviously that guy doesn’t know a thing about baseball cause he would know that was basically an A/AA team of nobodies and has beens. Even when it’s the WBC most of the really good players decide not to play to not get hurt. If you had a team with ALL of the American All stars they would dominate. There’s a reason washed up players go play in Japan/Mexico/Korea and not the other way around.

    Don would never do this

Rowson wasn’t included in the secret meeting where Don is supposed to throw the worst relievers in the pen out there to blow games late so tanking on purpose isn’t so obvious. You know, the way he used to when they would throw Chen and Conley out there to get wrecked in 2019.

  13. Lewis looking a lot better! You know, I have an odd feeling that he would benefit from a Stanton-esque closing of his stance to help keep the bat in the zone just a little longer. Stanton did it and won the MVP lol

  14. yeah they should take him out here and let him finish on a good note. You benefit more from a good ending mentally than risking him going out there and getting lit up in the 6th and changing the whole outcome of the start. Let the bullpen come in and blow the fuck out of it 🤷🏻‍♂️

  15. Uh oh, that sequence to Baez was HORRIBLE. Strikes me as a guy who’s struggling post sticky stuff ban too. He had a bad grip on al of those pitches, you rarely see that. Otherwise he was great in the first

using Meyer to get an unproven bat at this point is stupid for this team.  They literally just need MLB ready bats and a catcher who can actually defend and call a great game.

I’m with you 100%. That’s why the trade worries me and reeks of desperation/cheapness  unfortunately

Mcinvale control issues pretty bad though?

Then they shouldn’t have acquired him cause that ain’t news lol bring him up and see what you got

  18. Bass might be on the roster but he’s crap, I would get rid of him too. As I noted in the game thread they should bring up Mcinvale to see what he has, bring up Guzman to see if he figured out his hitability issues, and bring up basically anyone in the minors with high strikeout numbers to see what they can do. Either they blow games and it helps out draft stock, or you go into the off-season with 1-2 leas bullpen holes to fill
