  1. why tweak an offense that is tops in the majors in numerous categories? i still can't believe were second in homeruns. :cool
  2. Good luck with Wessy out there tonight guys, I'll definitely be rooting for ya. He was one heck of a class act in Milwaukee; signing autographs all day and chattin' it up with everyone. Lets just hope he doesn't have his infamous 3 inning or shorter start he got accustomed to doing. He is a good batter though, I'll predict a hit from him today. nice call!
  3. with respect to what he said about his pitch sequence to chipper.... shoot yourself in the face if you didn't know a slider was coming after he got ahead with two fastball strikes. it was a good slider... but chipper just knew it was coming, it was written all over his swing. later in that inning he did a great job of pitching to franceour; mixing in a nice change that froze him.
  4. i know this is completely off-topic, but i didn't want to create a new thread just to ask a question. but, when is johnson expected to return? and tankersley?
  5. Hit - Cabrera Double - Jacobs Triple - Ramirez HR - Cabrera RBI - Borchard Run Scored - Cabrera Stolen Base - Ramirez Caught Stealing - Ramirez Error - Ramirez Win - Gregg
  6. most definitely the Phils.... then Mets/Braves evenly... and there is so little of a rivalry between us and the Nationals i consider them a friend.
  7. LA Dodgers Valdez Pierre Garciaparra Gonzalez Betemit Bigbie Martinez Stinnett Lowe Florida Marlins Ramirez Uggla Cabrera Jacobs Willingham Ross Sanchez Treanor Sanchez It's 2-0 in the bottom of the first according to the box score. I was hoping someone could supply a gameday link. Cuz I know you guys sometimes manage to get gameday links when I can't find one. As always, GO FISH!
  8. opening day: ramirez uggla cabrera willingham jacobs hermida olivo sanchez ...i hope hermida and jacobs improve enough to make the order look like this ramirez hermida cabrera jacobs uggla willingham olivo sanchez
  9. ....any pitcher not named Dontrelle, JJ, Scott, or Anibal
  10. that's true, I'm just pointing out that I think Willy plays good defense. I can't recall the last time I've seen him make an error (I might of been looking away or not watching the game). I've just been seeing him making the diving catches, like that one he made early on in Sanchez's no-hitter. Me either. The crap plays he makes can't be credited as errors because he never even gets to the ball. Ehh, you must not have seen the Atlanta debacle. And to the guy who said hanley plays at a position that is prone to make more errors than outfielders.... no duh, but he's playing that tougher position and needs to play it better if he wants to be considered GOOD defensively at that position. What you said also doesn't deny the fact that Hanley's defense has lost us more than a few games. So, yes, I'm aware SS is a harder position to field than LF... :banghead
  11. and hanley's a good defensive short stop? hell no. the guy's defense has lost us more games than willy's defense. Uggla's most hr's by a rookie second baseman should garner the ROY That said, Hanley has the brightest future of any of our position player rookies. Just don't hate on Willy's defense and neglect the fact that Hanley has also been very spotty.
  12. cabrera lights some candles around an odd statue like cerrano (according to dontrelle willis on "The Dontrelle Willis Show") and scott olsen's bad attitude could be comparable to ricky's bad boy attitude
  13. i really dislike amezaga... he's certainly not over and above our other outfield players to warrant an everyday spot out there. I think his stretch in center should end, and let borchard/ross/abercrombie get their own little stretch of games. Amezaga should be kept for next year as a backup infielder.... and never set foot in center again. Cuz if he does, that means we still don't have an outfield.
  14. We are 6-7 against the Braves this year with 6 remaining. Have we ever taken the season series from the Braves? I recall us dominating them one season when we weren't that good... i think 2001. But, we definitely have at least once.
  15. Helms should have pinch-hit for Amezaga. And since Dontrelle was the only player (aside from Hermida) to make good contact against Lowe, that really didn't bother me. It bothered me a little... but not as much as seeing Amezaga at the plate... f***in Alfredo Amexican
  16. we need to keep amezaga so cabrera will have someone to play with...
  17. hermida so far this year... has sucked. But, I attribute that to this being his rookie season and he'll most likely get better as he gains experience. However, so far his rookie season bears resemblence (in the aspect of production and power) to that of ..... REGGIE ABERCROMBIE. AB-- R 2B 3B HR RBI 243 29 16 1 5 22 Hermida 230 32 11 2 5 21 Reggie For someone who is supposed to be our everyday right fielder for the next few years, the fact that REGGIE ABERCROMBIE is producing anywhere near the level Hermida is scares me. He better start driving in some FRIEKEN RUNS! wow... I love Reggie but this is ridiculous... take a look at hits and walks I reitterate... IN THE ASPECT OF PRODUCTION AND POWER.... walks and singles do not qualify as either power nor production. Believe me, I am well aware that Jeremy has a much higher BA and OBP than Reggie "Why am I in the majors?" Abercrombie.
  18. One that always comes to mind for me is Niner's catch against the Phillies in September. Marlins were only up by 2(I think) and Thome hammered one to left. Niner robs a homer and then doubles off someone from first or second. Was a big game because if they lose Marlins are out of the wild card lead. yea... that was a big play... it has my vote

  21. helms is a good guy... but he's too "blah" He's about as exciting as a Brian Moehler start. Put Jake in. Prediction: Marlins 5 (5 Solo Cody shots) Phillies 1
