Did anyone else hear the comment about a possible caravan being held on Saturday, April 15 to show support for the stadium? I heard it on saturday on "cafecito con los marlins". The organizer gave his number but he was too quick and didn't repeat it. This same guy also calls Jerry Del Castillo on Descarga Deportiva all the time. Please keep an eye out because it'll be important for many people to do this caravan.

Robaina was just on channel 7 news and he states that he is very interested in keeping the Marlins here specially in Hialeah. It now seems that we have hope of the Marlins staying via 2 routes, the Wayne Huizenga idea (Wayne's World), and Hialeah.

The Mayor of Hialeah will appear live tommorow at the Publix on 1585 W. 49 St from 6 pm to 7 pm together with the members of Descarga Deportiva and will discuss the possibility of a stadium in Hialeah. Jerry Del Castillo the main host on the show was also there at the meeting with Marianne Salazar at the church. Del Castillo seems to be determined to help in all he can to keep the Marlins here. We as a fan base should support the the Marlins by showing up tomorrow, 01/20 at 6pm. It is very important for the city of Hialeah to know that we support all their efforts to keep OUR team here. If all the people that sign on to this website show up, I'm sure that it will be a full house. The more people that show up the more coverage and exposure we will get. We need to let all those other cities know that the Marlins are not going anywhere. At least not without a fight!!!!

What happened to this effort? Not a single post since Jan 8!! Most of the posts are people arguing back and forth about if this is a good or bad thing. I attended the meeting and gave my contact info but I havent heard anything.

Fan fest is scheduled for Feb.11. It would be nice to have a good turnout.

This was mainly a preliminary meeting where many ideas were discussed. A representative for Carlos Alvarez was there and he said that Mr. Alvarez strongly supports the team (Just an aside: I hope that the Mayor is a bigger fan or at least follower of the Marlins since in two occasions he referred to the Miami Marlins instead of the Florida Marlins). A name for this organization was also agreed upon today, "Citizens For Baseball In South Florida". It was also said at the meeting that there is a good chance the stadium gets built since Huizenga and MLB both want to keep baseball in South Fla. A very good idea that was brought up was actually meeting with Huizenga himself and expressing to him that we support his idea of "Wayne's World". It was mentioned that this meeting should be attended by some key people including Carlos Alvarez, Marianne, a Fan, and possibly a Marlins player (Lenny Harris was mentioned as a good choice since he's originally from Miami). Overall, I believe this meeting was productive. It would've been nice to have seen a bigger turnout.

I am just trying to make light of this situation. I really hope the Marlins stay in S. Florida and that more than 12 fans show up for the game. Its very hard to do the wave that way, maybe the players can join us in the wave this year.

Krispy Kreme will give away a dozen donuts to all Marlin fans if the Marlins have 12 hits all season, excluding Cabrera.

I just caught the last seconds of Penellas commenting on the Marlins stadium issue. I think he said something about being sure that something concerning the Marlins will surely show up in Tallahassee. Did anybody hear this?

I agree it is the players decision to sign or not and as fans we must respect that, but being a professional baseball player doesn't give you the right to belittle anyone you want. I'm sure that this news will be as much of a shock to all the Mike Lowell fans out there as much as it was to me. On the saturday game against L.A. in which we lost 11-6 my younger brother and sister were waiting outside after the game trying to get autographs just as alot of kids do. Alfonseca and Castillo both stopped to sign but we already had them. Cabrera just drove by with no incident. When my brother saw Mike Lowell drive by he tried to get his autograph but Lowell didn't stop. My brother then said "its ok, your not my favorite player anyway". Lowell became extremely angry at my 14 year old brother and stopped his car and began screaming obscenities at him from his car infront of a bunch of other kids. He then told my brother if he had a problem with him to come and confront him. Lowell is 6'3" 210 lbs and my brother is 14 years old 5'5" and 110 lbs maybe thats why he was being so brave. By the time he stopped a large crowd of kids had gathered around him and his convertible jag to get autographs. Lowell then said "I'm going to sign for all these kids but I'm not going to F@@@ing sign s@@t for that punk" This also serves as a warning so that parents watch their kids because even a "role model" and supposedly "team captain" can try and take advantage of a young kid.

Hey MARLINS161 maybe you shouldnt be so quick to call the people that are complaining here "fair weather fans". I have the weekend ticket package plus I buy tickets for many other games during the week. I go to about 90% of home games. Thanks to people such as yourself, that are mesmerized by the Marlins front office and renew their season tickets like obedient little sheep, is why the Marlins get away with this robbery. I would love to see your reaction if Loria sold half the team next year and you were left with a bunch of tickets to watch little league caliber games.

My marlins representative never explained that to get playoff tix I would have to renew for next year. The price hike doesn't bother me. Its the bad way that the season ticket holders are treated. If they treat the season ticket holders "the cornerstone of the franchise" that way do you think that they even care about the fans that just walk up on game day. I'm not renewing for next year thanks to their deceitfulness.

Al Leiter and Mota should replace the grounds crew members that were hurt during the last rain delay. I'm sure that they'll find a way to mess up somehow.

I say we trade Mota for a bag of peanuts and we use Al Leiter as a new member of the grounds crew since some of the grounds crews members got hurt.
