  1. Jacobs and Olsen for Maybin and a prospect or two? I love it, I needed that. Rough day. If you think that's funny, wait till you hear this. This guy in the Marlins Group on Myspace posted this (In a topic about the possibility of A Rod coming to the Marlins, and Yes, he is being serious, the guy hardly knows a thing about baseball): "How about this: We should trade Willis to the Yankees for A-Rod, but keep Cabrera and sign him to a long-tern deal. If we do this, then we could have the on the same team. Cabrera will stay as the third baseman, A-Rod will be in the shortstop position, and Ramirez will move to the centerfield position. Comprende?" I was literally falling out of my seat laughing when i read this. This trade makes perfect sense. Why wouldn't the Yankees trade A-Rod straight up for Willis?

    new hats

    Those hats are absolutely terrible...
  3. I would love to see Floyd back in a Marlins uniform but I agree that it would have to be coming off the bench. Hammer and Hermida need to be anchoring the outfield next year.
  4. I'll be waking up at 3 to watch the game tonight. I'd love to see the Rockies take one in Boston
  5. Music piracy Web site closed after UK, Dutch raids Tue Oct 23, 2007 7:17am EDT By Luke Baker LONDON (Reuters) - British and Dutch police shut down one of the world's largest sources of illegal pre-release music on Tuesday and arrested a 24-year-old man. The raids in Amsterdam and the northeast English city of Middlesbrough followed a two-year investigation into a members-only Web site, www.OiNK.cd, which allowed users to upload and download albums before their release. Pre-release leaks have become one of the most damaging forms of piracy for the music industry which is struggling with falling sales. Recorded music sales have fallen by more than a third in the last six years, the industry says. An estimated 180,000 members paid 'donations' via debit or credit cards for OiNK's catalogue of music and other media. Industry experts said the site had provided access to more than 60 albums before their release this year alone. "OiNK was central to the illegal distribution of pre-release music online," said Jeremy Banks, the head of the anti-piracy unit at the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), which helped police with their investigation. "This was not a case of friends sharing music for pleasure. This was a worldwide network that got hold of music they did not own the rights to and posted it online." Pre-release piracy is regarded as particularly damaging because it leads to unauthorized mixes or unfinished versions of artists' recordings appearing months before they are meant to. Often it is those in the industry, who get promotional or demonstration copies of albums before their release, who are involved in leaking them to file-sharing sites. British police said they arrested the 24-year-old on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud and infringement of copyright law. Dutch police seized servers and other computer equipment. "While some might view this type of act as a victimless crime, there's no such thing," said Chief Superintendent Mark Braithwaite of the Cleveland police. "The cost of an enterprise such as this will be added to the cost of any legitimate purchases further down the line." Artists are experimenting with new ways of distributing their music to fans, including providing it free over the Internet. British band Radiohead released its latest album on the Web and invited fans to pay a donation to download it. A raid in Sweden last year shut down an Internet site that police said was a major source of music and film piracy.
  6. I've been getting back into some classics recently. Tale of Two Cities, The Old Man and the Sea, Catcher in the Rye, and I just started Les Miserables. So basically you used my 9th grade English syllabus to find some reading material. Yeah, I'm pretty sure almost everyone here has read most of these at one point or another, particularly in middle school but I've been throughly enjoying reading them again now that I can appreciate them for what they are.

    Snow in Coors

I was talking to my pops the other night and there is a pretty good chance of snow apparently for the games coming up. It shouldn't affect whether the games are played or not but it could be damn cold for the players and fans.
  8. Good to see. Despite struggling this year Willis adds a great dynamic to the team and will hopefully get back on track next year. Now we just need to get Cabrera signed to a long-term deal.
  9. Any new mixes on the way?
  10. Anyone like Say Anything? I haven't ever listened to them but they seem to be amassing a pretty large following.
  11. I remember when CSU was actually good, and the Colorado-CSU rivalry meant something. when was CSU good? and the rivalry still means everything to those living out there The CU-CSU game is one of those games that no matter where each team is ranked each year, it ends up being a pretty solid game. This year for example was a real close one despite the fact that CU was by far the better team. (We're not great granted but still the better team.) Ramp is right though, the game still means everything to the fans and students in the state.
  12. I do support the fact that measures are in place for the children who are having sex but I agree that condoms should be enough. Just because these kids aren't "old enough" to be having sex, doesn't mean they aren't. I'd rather them be safe than to be ignorant to the fact that it is happening and not provide any kind of support.

    Mizzou to Big Ten?

arkansas to the big 12 makes way too much sense. kick baylor out and add tcu and things would be really cool. Agreed, I would love to see both of those moves made.
  14. Good to see Hanley getting the recognition he deserves
  15. Brings back the memories doesn't it?
  16. I love offseason dreams followed by spring training reality.. it starts with Barry Bonds and Alex Rodriguez, ends with Alex Sanchez and Joe Borchard. :lol I heard somewhere that Chase Utley is close to inking a multi year deal with us No way. Uggla > Utley. Utley just had the luckier year. :notworthy
  17. London Calling. The greatest punk album of all time, even though there's not a single punk song on it. Possibly the greatest album of all time. Not a single bad song, and "Lost In The Supermarket", "Spanish Bombs" and "Train In Vain" are among the very best songs ever written. "Four Horsemen" might be the only subpar song, and it's still not bad. Plus, 18 songs, and one bad one. Amazing. Great album. Although I've had it for years now, I still find it in my rotation quite frequently.
  18. #13 Kansas (6-0) visiting Colorado (4-3), Saturday, 3:30pm MDT I'm calling another upset in Boulder this weekend. Cody and Charles are going get back on track after last weeks loss and hand the Jayhawks their first loss of the season. 3. Colorado State 0-6 ("Good Times Bad Times") 5. Nebraska 4-3 ("Dazed And Confused") Despite the fact that this list is fairly arbitrary, it does my heart good to see both CSU and Nebraska in the "Bottom Ten"
  19. I love offseason dreams followed by spring training reality.. it starts with Barry Bonds and Alex Rodriguez, ends with Alex Sanchez and Joe Borchard. :lol Sad but true. Although part of what makes the offseason fun is all the speculation and talk about potential moves so why the hell not? That being said, I don't see any possibility of A-Rod being a Marlin next year.
  20. Does anyone have any idea what the record is for most games won in a certain period. I haven't heard anything about it but would thing that winning 21 out of 22 has to be close to a modern baseball record. That being said, my pops just got in on some tickets for one of the games at Coors Field and I am extremely jealous.
  21. That's just terrible. It never ceases to amaze me how sick some people in this world are.
