  1. How would you like...

    It worked.
  2. How would you like...

Wow. I just stumbled into this old thread. For those curious, here's what I actually did. It was Valentines Day (yes, typical I know, but she thought it was just me being sweet at the time). I set up the table all fancy like, turned of the lights, and served a homemade candlelit dinner to '80s love ballads (don't judge me, it's how I roll). Anyhow, I made an amazing steak, roasted red potatoes, and pan fried asparagus. I don't even like asparagus, but it was amazing. I even bought a $50 bottle of wine just to make the steak sauce. I went all out. Even dressed up real nice like. Anyhow, when the time came to pop, the question, I was so nervous. I had hidden the engagement ring on the underside of the table. And I did a spoken word version of Never Gonna Give You Up. "Joanna, we're no strangers to love. You know the rules and so do I." Pull out the ring box and open it as I say, "A full commitment's what I'm thinkin' of." Well, she did a double take and said, "HOLY CRAP!" followed by, "Is that real!?" and "Yes! YES! YES!"
  3. Beer is my friend.

It's (or at least the first recipe I tried) requires surprisingly little time. Set aside a few hours one day and then set aside a few hours a month or two later.
  4. Beer is my friend.

So, this summer I finally took the plunge and started brewing my own beer. Using kits for the time being until I get the hang of it, but it was a lot of fun. I brewed a summer ale at the time, made a few minor mistakes, but nothing major. It still came out tasting great. Today, I ordered kits for three different IPA varieties. I love IPAs so I think these ones are going to be a lot of fun.
  5. Beer is my friend.

I would just like to say that I am amazed that one drunken post from 8 years ago is still running strong. I also must say that I really enjoy what it has become. I love swinging in here from time to time just to see what new and delightful beers I need to try.

  7. Dexter

It was such a stupid, stupid ending. Right from the very beginning, I said the only good way the show could end was with Dexter getting caught and executed. Instead, it ends with Dexter actually creating more problems than the ones he thought he was solving.
  8. Funny Images...

  9. Dexter

One of my favorite shows ever. Seasons two and four were easily the best. And John Lithgow makes a terrifying serial killer. Let's just say that the Thanksgiving episode is one of the few times when I was literally on the edge of my seat for anything.

A man walks into a bar and says "Ouch!"
  11. Hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day

Ha! Silver thong, actually. Yeah, those days are far behind me. I was such a dumb idiot back then. I apologize for all of my stupidity. For those who I'm sure that I have offended, I hope that you'll forgive me for anything that I've done and I know that I've done a lot. Thank you, and may Christ's blessings be upon you all. 12. I convinced my wife that I had forgotten all about it. Being a man, it's rather easy to convince a woman you've forgotten a semi-important holiday. Anyhow, after church, I surprised her with a picnic. We ate over on the grass near an old bridge that crosses the river while our seven month old daughter played. It was a very good day.
  13. Favorite Books?

I quite enjoyed Darkly Dreaming Dexter. I'm currently making my way through Concorida: The Lutheran Confessions.
  14. Favorite cereal

Cinnamon Toast Crunch followed by Cookie Crisp. Sent from Windows Phone 8 using Tapatalk
  15. Beer is my friend.

I have really been enjoying Enjoy By from Stone Brewing. It's one of the freshest tasting beers I have ever had. http://www.stonebrewing.com/enjoyby/
