  1. Welcome back Cape! Thanks Admin! Love the forum format. It's been a while!
  2. That was a fun summer, time for some new memories in the new park!
  3. :stare Time passes, some things don't change. :baseball I've been kinda busy over the last decade.
  4. Looking at the deal, the biggest negative is the loss of the 104.3 FM and the perch on the most listened to sports station in town. On the plus side, Clear Channel has plenty of marketing pull and this deal should help the Marlins in that department. The 940 signal is pretty good (definitely comparable to 790) and I'm hoping this deal will enable growth of the Marlins network outside of Dade, Broward, and Monroe counties. Marlins didn't have their games aired in Palm Beach or Southwest Florida for the first time in many years. We will see how 940 handles conflicts with the Dolphins and Gators. Overall, not a bad deal that should get the games to as many fans as possible. The loss of the FM signal kinda sucks, but 940 is improving the local programming. This deal is similar to the one the Mets signed with Clear Channel's WOR and the Rays also have a deal with CC.
  5. Check Fox Sports Florida at midnight for the Marlins replay. They aired the Magic live in North and Central Florida with the Marlins being replayed statewide at midnight.
  6. Enter you zip code to find which game you're getting on FOX: http://msn.foxsports.com/fantasy/baseball/tuneintowin/ ...or look here: http://static.foxsports.com/content/fscom//binary/2010/06/03/621275600783472.pdf
  7. Buster Posey was quite the player at FSU. Played all 9 positions in one game just to show he could. Putting aside reality, the Marlins need a catcher for the next 2-3 years and I say we try to get McCann from the Braves as part of a package involving Fredi. Now back to regularly scheduled reality...
  8. Hotcorner, they are going to air all 150 Marlins games...but those that conflict with the NBA and NHL schedules force the splitting of FSN into Rays and Marlins feeds which mean North and Central Florida will get some Marlins games on tape delay. BTW, the game is about to replay on FS Florida HD.
  9. FSN needs to figure out this situation because the NBA playoffs could be a problem.
  10. Hey, if anyone on this club can pull it off...I'd say it would be Nolasco. He always seems to surprise me when I write him off.
  11. Unfortunately, due to the NBA games tonight, the FS Florida feed will be split. Sun Sports will carry the HEAT in SoFla and the Magic in N/Central FL. If you have cable in South Florida, then for tonight: Fox Sports Florida (HD) will carry the Marlins live Sun Sports (HD) will carry the HEAT live and the Rays on delay at 11pm If you have cable in North/Central Florida, then for tonight: Fox Sports Florida (HD) will carry the Rays live and the Marlins on delay at 11pm Sun Sports (HD) will carry the Magic live (I'm in Tallahassee and Comcast here is doing this. I asked about an alternate channel to air it live, but they said it would be aired at 11pm.) If you have satellite, then for tonight statewide: Marlins: DIRECTV 654, DISH 423 Rays: DIRECTV 655, DISH 444 HEAT: DIRECTV 656, DISH 474 (SoFla) Magic: DIRECTV 653, DISH 422 (N/C FL) For those with AT&T U-Verse, check from Channels 720-723 and HD Channels 1720-1723 Most cable systems could offer all the games, but it would require using a third, spare channel as FSN+ and most cable systems do not have that capability set up. Tomorrow, this will happen again except with the NHL teams instead of the NBA teams. Sun Sports (HD) has the Fish live in SoFla and on delay at midnight in N/C FL, with the Lightning live in N/C FL. Fox Sports Florida (HD) has the Panthers live in SoFla, with the Rays live in N/C FL and on delay at 11pm in SoFla. See http://foxsportsflorida.com/ for the TV Listings for DirecTV and Dish Network.
  12. I'm going to try and get U-Verse when I move...hopefully I can get it.
  13. With the new contracts for FS Florida/Sun Sports now in effect with cable companies, all 300 games for both teams should be available statewide on virtually every cable and satellite system. Does that include U-Verse subscribers? Yes
  14. With the new contracts for FS Florida/Sun Sports now in effect with cable companies, all 300 games for both teams should be available statewide on virtually every cable and satellite system.
  15. Fox Sports Florida/Sun Sports Channel Listings: http://foxsportsflorida.com/pages/channelfinder
  16. MLB.tv has the games up after they end in about 75-90 minutes without blackout, you can watch it anywhere, and it offers you so many games for just $110 for the year. Otherwise, FSN should publish the schedule in the coming weeks. Usually around late February or early March.
  17. This is some great news indeed! 150 games in HD is not easy to produce and distribute. Delays in previous seasons have been due to distribution issues with FSN's master control being built in Houston and cable/satellite companies not having room to feed it to eager fans. Also, word has it that Comcast outside of Metro SoFla (Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Orlando, Fort Myers, Naples, Panama City, Sarasota, etc) has bought the rights to the extra 55 Marlins games to make it all 150 games in 2010. We shall have to wait and see because seeing is believing with Comcast, but this is great news indeed all around.
  18. On a separate note, it appears that FOX will select three Marlins games to air on the Saturday Game of the Week. June 5: FLA @ NYM 4:10 PM July 3: FLA @ ATL TBD August 28: FLA @ ATL 4:10 PM FOX will air some Saturday games in primetime, but I don't think July 3rd was a date selected for primetime Saturday Games of the Week. That puts us up to 153 televised games in 2010.
  19. Do Comcast's competitors (satellite and Verizon) carry the extra Marlins games on those other regions in Florida? That's the only way you will be able to convince them. At least the way it is up here, Comcast is terrible at expanding it's coverage. DirecTV, Dish Network, Verizon FiOS, and AT&T U-Verse have all 150 games statewide where they offer service.
  20. I know the Marlins would like to claim Puerto Rico's television market so that they can air games there locally. Samson has made hints at increased marketing to Latin America in the coming years. MLB has to make decisions because Puerto Rico is currently a no-win situation with only nationally televised games airing there. Plus, Marlins scratch MLB's back and MLB will scratch their back with an All Star Game and WBC.
  21. It is not only Comcast in Tallahassee, but anywhere outside of Metro South Florida. The Jacksonville, Tallahassee/Panama City, Lake City/Live Oak, Central and SW Florida areas of Comcast are still with only 95 games. I made this site to help you know who to contact: http://fsnflorida.blogspot.com/
  22. Comcast has to buy the extra 55 games to air them. They will have 95 games (in HD if so broadcast) in 2010 as of right now. Contact Comcast and tell them you want the 55 games. As for the future, the Marlins territory of Florida and southern Alabama will remain the same because DirecTV, Dish Network, AT&T U-Verse, and Verizon FiOS air all 150 games in that territory. Plus, most cable companies air at least 95 games with Bright House Networks and Cox airing all 150 in most of their areas.
  23. If you need your Rich fix until the season starts you can get it by watching college basketball on FSN(and I suppose SunSports). I don't think he specifically or only calls UM games. He called Boston College-UM game last Tuesday. Maybe just because it was played in Miami. I know some of you females are going crazy not being able to hear or see him these last few months.:P Maybe a few guys too?:unsure Whatever happened to CapeFish? This is his department. He would know about this. I've been mega-busy for the last 4 years or so. Rich will do some FSN-produced things from time-to-time including UM, FSU, and UF college basketball for FSN/SUN. He also does some games for Big Ten Network as needed. FSN should be doing some Marlins-related programming for spring training within the next 2 months that should help get us to opening day.
  24. Hey Cape. Any idea if Comcast is going to televise all 150 or so games up here in Tally. We've been screwed over the last few years by them not showing those games broadcasted on Sunshine. I appreciate any info you have. They told me it could be revisited sometime before the season. Send your e-mails, letters, and phone calls to Comcast Tallahassee. thanks Cape. major news to me as I have been a central florida resident for 2 years now... hence my complete dissapearance from game threads and my lack of knowledge. hope all is well. all is well here, hope the same is true for you. He is in the Guinness book of world records for most posts in a day. How many was it?, 200?? We thought Cape fell off his rocker, he was literally having a conversation with himself. :lol I thought some of those were combined. It was done a bit tongue-in-cheek. Cape can I get it in Charlotte? Welcome back, you are missed. Charlotte County, FL or Charlotte, NC? Charlotte County has Comcast Cable, which carries FSFlorida and SunSports, but only shows 95 Marlins games last I heard. A Dish or DirecTV customer in Charlotte can watch all 150 on FSN and SUN. Charlotte, NC can get this Fish whenever they play the Braves (FSCarolina/SportSouth), Nationals/Orioles (MASN), or Reds (FSCarolina/SportSouth) on your normal cable/satellite service, but if they aren't playing them, you can watch on MLB Extra Innings or MLB.tv. Any idea when this goes into effect? Channel 50 is there with FOX Sports Florida, but you need a digital box.
