  1. Do you guys like these pinstripe designs? If you play Diamond Dynasty in MLB The Show 18, I took someone’s previous design and edited it. I thought it looks decent with pinstripes I’m just curious.

    That’s not a marlin. That’s a sail fish.

  2. It was a night time event with media and season ticket holders and it was done like a fashion show with a Pitbull concert.

I was there with pitbull’s “entourage” I remember hating the new uniforms, and tried to sneak some pics from inside the locker room before they officially showed it. We were in there with pitbull and the Estefan’s. My buddy who got us the connection didn’t let me take pics. Haha. He’s was one of Pitbulls songwriters and an artist on his label. I ended up actually really liking the orange and black uniforms. And throughout all my travels, I will say that I spotted the Miami gear all over the United States and even abroad. I think they are potentially going to lose a big market of people who were just buying it for the appearance, other than being a true fan of the team.

  4. Anyone else notice the new brewery that opened up at the stadium? It’s at one of the parking garages. Finally, someone opened something up. Looks like it could be a cool spot. I was with the kid, so we didn’t check it out. But next game I will. I think they are calling it “night life brewery”. I ended up going up to the 300’s section to get stuff from the concessions, first time I have to use that trick since 2012 season. No line up there, but the people around me that went to get stuff, took at least three half innings to get back to their seat.

  5. Funny thing was when they said “there’s three outs in the fifth inning, you know what that means?” I blurted out Cafecito time? As a joke... then I was echoed by the PA Announcer. I was like wait.....what??

Im all for Cafecito, I just didn’t expect that from a major league team. Not knocking it, cause a lot of the younger cuban American people around social media consider 3:05 pm Cafecito time, and there’s a cult following for drinking Cafecito, so I think it could be a cool thing. Just kind of didn’t expect it.

Im always down for free Cafecito.

  6. Let me repaint what’s there, it’ll look FAR better.

However, I don’t really mind it. It is what it is, people talk about it non stop, and the casual folks that you see around the park at games seem to love it. The paintwork on it is sub par;  Very childishly done, but overall, as a complete piece of “art”,  it looks better.

Again, I am speaking as an artist.

  7. I’m sure that patch is heat pressed on. It will NOT come off. I own an apparel company, and design and produce a lot of headwear. I’m sure that patch has an even layer of hot glue then is heat pressed on. Sounds like it would be easy to remove, but unless you are taking a blow torch to it, it won’t come off. I create fishing apparel that is out in extreme sun conditions and have never seen any patch come off. This is common practice for attaching a patch on. We add one stitch surrounding our patches for extra measures, but I know of many companies that don’t, and don’t have issues. As long as it’s done right, it’ll stay put, unless someone intentionally tries to remove it.

  8. I travel a LOT... part of my work means I'm constantly traveling on the road, I will tell you that i see more random casual folks wearing Marlins hats than any other team hat all over the place. You guys might not like the logo because it's not a traditional baseball logo, however it is desired by many that want a trendy looking baseball cap. I see people wearing Marlins headwear in small rural Kentucky, in the Georgia mountains, small towns in Tennessee. People in small towns look up to the flashy lifestyle of Miami that the current logo demonstrates. A lot of them hope to one day make it down here and wearing that cap allows them to live that even if it's just wearing a random baseball cap. There's also a lot of people that just like the colorful aspect of it and will buy it just because it looks cool to them. When I first saw the new uniforms, I was terrified. I was actually in team clubhouse with a few people just before they announced it. Emilio Estefan was wearing the jersey, everyone in the clubhouse was stoked. I however wanted to puke in disgust. To add to the situation, pit bull ran on stage and performed a few songs. Lol

But throughout the years, it has grown on me drastically. I will hate to see the new branding go.

Ultimately from a branding state of mind, you want to create a brand that transcends your market. You want people that have never gone to a baseball game to wear your gear because it looks cool. Yeah, there are a lot of hardcore baseball fans. But there are FAR more people on earth that don't give a crap about it. Tap into that market, and you'll see a lot of growth.

  9. Hey hey hey I thought I was the master of photoshop here!? I'm gonna take that as I'm so good at photoshop that you didn't even realize my posts were photoshopped!

I don't now man, I've done some pretty great photoshops throughout the years.

I mean, billy wit a sweater vest? come on. It was even on the telecast a few times when we used to troll Rich and Tommy on email days.

    just saying...

  10. Sorry guys, that's weird that the PayPal wasn't working. Try again, it should work. I sell a lot of stuff through my site daily, and I haven't heard of any issues. Try again, if it doesn't work shoot an email to my team at [email protected] and we will make sure to get the free stickers out to you.

And squall, No scam here, I've been a long time member of this forum. I've also met a few of the forum members in the past.

  11. Hey guys, sorry for the delayed response. It's been a bit hectic with the stickers. I have shipped out over 1,000 of these stickers nationwide. It got a bit overwhelming to keep track of all the stuff, so I put them on my website for free, just pay for shipping. I know a couple of you guys already got them through my site.

You can find the tribute sticker here:

I also have a thin blue line police tribute sticker on there for free as well.

    Thanks,

    Eric

  12. As a Cuban American baseball fan, who my grandfather was a political prisoner in Cuba, I found myself at a loss for words. As an artist, I decided to express myself as artist do. I made two hundred stickers of the number 16 with redfish artwork in it. Why redfish? Jose (before becoming a superstar) used to post pictures on his Instagram of him and buddies fishing Tampa bay out of a John boat catching monster redfish. I decided to go around Miami putting these stickers up as a tribute, so people don't forget him. But instead I got a bunch of people asking me for stickers. So I put them available on my website  for free.  I have given out around 800, and printing another batch of 200 more.   Originally I didn't want give them out, but I had several parents telling me that their children were big fans of Jose, and are big fans of  my artwork, and they knew it would make their kids smile in  a tough time . If anyone wants  one let me know. Let me try to figure out how to post a photo of it.
