Any word on how long this will sideline him for?
-
As I've mentioned on here before, I had a conversation with Loria in the middle of Chicago last summer and he was very pleasant and willing to chat about the team.

Seems like a bit of hate for Realmuto for not blocking the ball well enough. On the flip side, remember he did throw out 2 runners so bit harsh to blame him for this one.
-
it look as their was good crowd at game even upper upper was open
36,519 was the announced attendance so only 1,000 less than capacity.
-
Miguel Rojas was swinging a nice bat in Spring Training and has continued to do so in the first week. More playing time for him is ok by me.
-
Why not Bane?
-
First turn through the rotation - a cumulative 2.96 ERA. Maybe this won't be so bad after all...
-
Good game and it's the perfect timing to lock up Ozuna and JT,right ?
Remember how a year or so ago it seemed the front office were doing everything in their power to trade Ozuna away...glad they didn't!

Where the hell are all the negative nancys now that we're even at 2-2?
I'll give a couple of negatives. First is Hechavarria, continues to flat out suck. Second is Mattingly whereby he put Ellis in the 2 hole. Fine when he puts Realmuto there but got to mix up the order when it's a lesser bat rather than just go for a direct replacement.
Otherwise a great win and good to see Chen pitch well.

Maybe the Blue Jays but not really a strong following. More a case of I bought a Josh Donaldson jersey at one of their games last summer...

Is the game happening? Meant to be wet in Washington

The overreactions on here bother me more than the 0-2 record.
Case in point of last year. Started 5-11 but we were 9 games over at the end of July. People make so much more of the opening week or two since since it looks worse.
-
Here we go again with the dramatic overreactions and negative approach after an 0-2 start. What he proposed is not an impossibility
Exactly. We have lost two games to the best team in our division...hardly a disaster. Mets have only scored in 2 of 21 innings played thus far so they aren't exactly firing on all cylinders to start the year.

That was me doing my bit for big G by tweeting Stark.
-
Grab the final game of the series today and win 2 in New York and a 3-3 start would be perfectly acceptable.

I agree that Hollandsworth was decent in the booth. He's articulate and I reckon will strike up a good rapport with Rich. He's not going to have the same fire as Tommy but he's a proper commentator unlike some of the people we've had to listen to in recent years.

On the plus side I was very impressed by Volquez. Had no idea he could still dial it up to 97mph.
-
Why have Phelps go multiple innings on day one of the season with our supposed deep pen, a day off tomorrow and the pitcher's spot due to hit between innings.....
-
Nice to miss Scherzer. Tough enough facing Strasburg and Syndergaard in the first week.
-
Justin Bour will hit a HR in a 5-3 Fish win
-
Hopefully just being overly cautious since its the final game of Spring Training and nothing more serious.
-
Conley's velocity was back up to 94mph last night so seems good to go for the season.
-
Nicolino, Urena and Conley all with multiple scoreless innings over the past 2 games. Any word on Nicolino's velocity today i.e. any truth to recent reports he's found an extra few mph?

Updated opening post and title:
He will NOT be ready for Opening Day due to a Grade 1 strain
And so it begins...

Volquez changed his cleats between innings. They must be to blame for the poor first inning.
