Got to hand hand it to Atlanta for being active early compared to most teams. Guess it's that new ballpark factor.

With the new ballpark in Atlanta, this is their version of Buehrle/Bell/Reyes. Bet it somehow works out better than our first season in our new home went.

As expected the Nats picked up Gio's option so we can score him off the wishlist.

One of the best games I've ever seen. Was worth staying up watching till 5am even though I had to set my alarm for 7am and go to work on 2 hours sleep.

Seen all 5 episodes but still unsure if I'm enjoying this show or not. Certainly intrigued.

Jose was 3 players in 1. There aren't 3 players in FA that touch Jose's ability. It's time to mentally prepare for sub .500 baseball until Loria sells shortly after the ASG. 

 

Shouldn't be hard to mentally prepare given most of the past decade has been sub .500 baseball.

Cocaine or "such substances"?. I am curious because I honestly don't know many people who do cocaine but I have done weed and acid and shrooms. To me there is a huge difference between alcohol/cocaine/heroin and other drugs like weed/LSD/shrooms.

 

Yeah cocaine. Dont know anyone who has ever taken heroin. Boys weekends away some have taken a few lines of coke but on very rare occasion. Well educated people with good jobs but sometimes people feel they need something extra for a good night. For me alcohol is plenty.

This doesnt change anything for me in terms of the hurt I felt over the incident. Obviously disappointed that Jose took cocaine however doesnt tarnish his image as my favourite player. I have good friends who have dabbled in such substances...I'll never take it but its a lot more common than some may think.

Must have just been a series of bad decisions that night, including the coke. Cant have taken it regularly otherwise he would have been caught by MLB testing during the season.

Slater reporting Jose had Cocaine in his system as well as alcohol.

 

Wow didnt see this coming. Knew he would be drunk but didnt think he would be taking drugs. 

I saw that at the weekend and very almost replied making reference to the VT 2007 shooting but managed to prevent lowering myself to that scumbags level.

My street rep is better than my site rep and that's what matters.....

Hope the Cubs win. I am not missing that party in Chicago even as a Marlins fan. I live among Cub fans and the narrative in this thread is wrong. They have very good and loyal fans. 

 

I have no problem with their fans - was a sole Marlins fan with my orange Stanton jersey on a train carriage full of Cubs fans after 2 games at Wrigley and didn't hear any snide comments. Maybe had the Marlins won it would have been different...

Cubs and Indians haven't won in forever and the year I go to both Wrigley and Progressive Field for games, they both make the World Series. Just saying.....
