  1. I would like to see Gonzo start and bat in the same spot as hermida for a couple of games

Gonzo typically has better AB's then Hermida and we could use hermida as a #1 pinch hitter

    thoughts?

Are you kidding? No effing way. Hermida's in the midst of an 11-game hitting streak right now. He's also one of the more patient hitters in the lineup, and has more speed to run the bases and get to balls in RF than Gonzo, and has a cannon for an arm. Remember when he gunned down Griffey at home? Gonzo does NOT make that play.

  2. I think a lot of people share the A hole title in this game. Especially Nelson, he was sooo close to getting out of the bases-loaded, nobody out jam and then got so afraid to pitch to contact. The ball 4 call was questionable though...but then another walk after he had already ruined Ollie's chance at a W.

Jacobs, even though he got the force at home, was kind of an A hole for botching the play earlier in the inning to load the bases. Pinto was totally screwed there on those three "hits." I still consider Pinto the most reliable in the bullpen, even if his ERA has ballooned a bit in the last month (still under 3).

But seriously...Iwamura to deep left? He had such a short swing. He's awesome.

  3. Looks like I inadvertently started some sh*t with T & B. Whatever, that's why I finally registered here and not there after years of being a detached Fish fan.

As for Hyde and his columns, I know his track record but I was extra cranky about it last night because a.) I'm sick of the local media doing what the national media already does in bashing us (the local press should be better than that), and b.) I was hoping to drive down for the Citrus Series but I can't because I am a broke, unemployed college grad and that "column" just reminded me of my misfortune.

But at least I have my newfound Marlins support group...

So I just went to the Sun-Sentinel Web site, and this was the newly-updated top story. I was skeptical enough to think it would be singing the praises of the Marlins and Rays, but this sorry excuse for a sports columnist brought me back down to reality.

I'm really pissed off by this. I made the third comment and called him a douche bag, but they bleeped the douche out. Homeboy thinks he's clever, but he's really a prick who points out the obvious and offers no legitimate insight. The only people who are justified in mocking the Marlins (and Rays for that matter) are the actual FANS who follow them religiously and actually CARE.

I just graduated from journalism school, but even as an aspiring sportswriter myself, I have no respect for this assclown.

  5. He is not major league material period. As a catcher he is terrible. Several past balls have resulted in game changing plays this year. Yestersday his lack of understanding of the rules resulted in any momentum that could have brought us back to win the game, was completely blown. To not realize a tag was required after the force out was over was really poor playing. I don't see his bat as anything great so what purpose does he serve?

could not have said it any better myself , defensively and offensively he is a liability . I dont see what we gain by keeping him on our roster .

I really don't see the FO doing anything about this anytime soon, so we're just going to have to suck it up and hold our breath when he starts once a week. At least he caught the runner stealing second before everything went to hell....Anyway, let's just hope he learned his lesson, he's probably humiliated enough as it is and I bet it was an uncomfortably long flight home for the dude.
